These sales people talk you into purchasing at their resort by telling you that your Maintenance fees and the purchase price will be funded by Points Resort Liquidators. A credit card with RCU by Bank of America with a high interest rate was used to pay them. They promised I would only have to make 2 maybe 3 payments on the card. I had told them that I can not afford another expense as I am retired on a fixed income. I was looking to relive myself of maintenance fees, etc. This occured inSept of 2011. Have been unable to speak with any one from Sunset Harbor or PRL. Nothing is happening other than my payments to the credit card. Are there any assurances out there that this will happen?

Unfortunately, it's extremely unlikely that you are going to see any return on the money.

Read your contract, none of what you have stated is in your contract. If the company was able to guarantee what you were told, it would be in the contract. If the company could make money by dealing with Points Resort Liquidators they would do it directly. Your only recourse at this point is to contact Procuraduría Federal del Consumidor

I don't know that this is a Mexican timeshare - I was assuming this was the Sunset Harbor RCI points resort in Texas that seems to be the biggest google hit for this scam.

well, without more or better information from the OP, it's the best I could do. [s]he could always go to the appropriate AG's office. Thanks, for setting me straight !

Sorry if I came off sounding harsh, that wasn't my intention!

I just figured the Bank of America credit card and Sunset Harbor sounded like a US thing, and trying to deal with PROFECO first might be a headache. I agree that a lot more info would be helpful to assist the OP.

              Hi,

PROFECO is a good option when you are within your 5 business day period, after such period of grace PROFECO will not do much; unless you have an attorney working for you.
If this is your case, I suggest you to hire an attorney who works ONLY on contingency basis, in order to avoid being victim of fraud.
