  • Timeshare Relief and Wikepedia

The lastest version of Wikepedia ( the blogger written encylopedia) has redone their article on Timesharing. The deleted the reference to (our own)Steve Nelson's great Timeshare 101 article and any reference to the consumer websites like TS4Ms or TUG.

BUT they have a reference to Timeshare Relief saying

Developers put a very large mark-up on new inventory and a new owner will find the resale value of their timeshare to be half or less of what they purchased it for. In the very worst of cases, timeshare resales are virtually impossible and users are stuck paying fees indefinitely. This is what is commonly known as the "timeshare trap," although companies like TimeShare Relief have developed that will, for a fee, take the worst of these timeshares.
This article has been re written so many times that, IMHO, it is now almost worthless as far as educating the consumer to timesharing and how to get the most from timesharing.

Removing the reference is what will educate the consumer and they can not have that now can they?

From my limited use of Wikipedia, I have seen more crap than reliable information - hence my limited use.

This is clearly a selfserving rewrite by these slimeballs, something inherent in Wikipedia.

        Wow what a shame. Slimeballs.

If we want to fix this, it ie relatively easy to become an editor for them...

We could collectively work on rewriting the page and put the perspective back in focus. I am not a great writer but with the collective mind of sites like, tug, and others we really have a lot we can say on the topic...

            Ken -

I would be glad to contribute. But since I'm the author if Timesharing 101 at TUG, I'm in an awkward place trying to link back to it. So it's best that I work behind the scenes.

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

            “You shouldn't wear that body.”

You can link back to Tug... this is not a TS4MS vs TUG thing...

We just need to ensure it is a fair and balanced discussion... There are Pros and Cons and timesharing is a complictaed subject that I am really not qualified to cover myself...

Just the same... there are experts on here that know more about exchanging, points, etc then just about anybody in the world... If these experts got together (both here and at Tug) then everyone wins...

We can provide a list of resources and people that visit the entry can decide which sites they wish to visit
