  • Timeshare hassles and ripoffs

Timeshares are just a huge hassle. Honestly, I do not know why people even buy them. Such ridiculous hype, only to be frustrated at every corner.

Was into them a few years ago, but I can get weeks for cheaper with my membership, no outrageous upfront cost and annual fees.

        ...

I am just saying I have had many problems and many people I know have had many problems. Obviously there are some people who are happy with them.....if they like to waste money that is. How much did you spend on those timeshares? How much are your fees?

Another happy timeshare owner here. Timeshares are awesome, especially if you know how to make the most of what you have, and we help people do that every day

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

We really like our timeshares. Stick around and try to pick up some knowledge how to use them to your advantage. You will be surprised how much you will find out, if you ask, and you may enjoy yours too.

              Where do you own?

Just got the deed on #6 last week, and have owned since 1997. You just need to take the time to learn & understand, and you will enjoy vacations in [B]luxury[B] for less than the price of a mediocre hotel in most areas.

                    I've just recently purchased timeshares numbers 6 & 7, and I'm in closing on numbers 8 & 9.

Gee, you wouldn't be any chance be here just to try to sell some membership, would you?

If not, stick around, we can show you how to get a good deal.

I owned a timeshare (over 20 years ago) and I found it difficult to use. When I did get to use it I thought it was great. Part of the problem was that I didn't know how to use it to my advantage. No-one had home computers in my part of the world and as far as I know, forums like this did not exist.

The people here are nice and full of good information. Many of them have "owned and used" for years and years and many own more than one.

I don't own a timeshare, I came here to see if I could personally benefit from owning one. I notice you joined this forum quite recently too. Why are you here?

I pretty much know where this thread is going. This is another shill for one of those "clubs." This business model is probably illegal.

I don't think he will be back.

                          5 posts here.

The next thing perhaps would be to help you dispose of them. Mike seemed to souse it out pretty quickly.

Nothing like a shill to go trolling for unhappy timeshare owners. I guess there are enough people that never really learn how to use them that they assume any timeshare forum is a forum of unhappy timeshare owners. Or, it could be a person who really did own a timeshare and thought this was a group of people bashing timeshares. At any rate, it really doesn't matter.

These forums are to help others learn how to use their timeshares to the fullest potential. We now own 7 and have used them to succesfully travel around the USA and to other parts of the world. Without them I may have traveled but, not as comfortably. Hotel rooms are OK but they're just not as good as a condo IMO.

So, to the OP, if you're here to sell discontent you picked the wrong site. If you'd like to learn about timeshares, how to buy them and how to use them you've come to the right place. You'll just have to keep an open mind and then decide what works best for you. After all, no one here is trying to sell you a timeshare or ask you to put a down payment on one and sign a contract. We're only here to trade thoughts and information.
