We just went on a timeshare owners update at Wyndham in Kona HI. The guy was cool and a real pro who had been in the business for a long time with multiple companies in Hawaii. We chit chatted a bit about timeshare, HI, etc and he asked us what we wanted to get out of the meeting. I wanted some information on their inventory and system and what they are selling now (San Fransisco). Before we went any further he knew very clearly who we were.....we bought resale at a bargain price at one of their newest resorts. He originally thought we were the original owners (suckers) that paid $133,000 for 805,000 FSP points....yes that is right....I saw the paperwork he had pulled up from the system. Unfreakingbelievable that someone paid that kind of money for what we got for pennies on the dollar. I told him the bargain we got and he agreed that we did great. I did not antagonize him about how points are even way cheaper than what we paid but we paid what we did because we wanted ARP at that particular resort. He did not crap on us at all. We talked about a few things that resale does not get but it did not add up to squat and we both new it and discussed it. He answered any question we wanted and we had a few but did not want to waste anymore of his time. He escorted us down to the exit closing table and told us to hold on....he talked to the guy in charge and then waved us over saying he was taking us to gifting and said he did not want to put us through that especially considering what we had bought and for how much. Nice guy and a pro all the way....he knew it was a numbers game and he played it cool.
We had a tour at the same place about two years ago and got a woman who worked with her husband there and all she could do was talk about herself and how great she and here husband were and how they used their own points for airfare, lodging, blah blah blah. We were just TPI exchangers then and had to stay for the grueling 90+ minutes of this womans drivel which was a total waste of time....we learned very little. But we did learn enough to do more research and then become owners......resale that is....black gold.....we learned from timeshare forums.
