One of the best we had was at the Sheraton Hacienda Del Mar in Cabo, We wanted to book a tour and pay for it but no one wanted to accept our money they kept offering for us to take a tour (they said they made more money that way) They offered us complimentary ride to town, breakfast, 2 blankets, transfers for two back to the airport when we departed, 2 boat rides to lovers beach, 2 sunset cruise tickets, and I think there was one more thing.

We we arrived at the tour we told them we were not intersted, after he found out how much we paid for our units and I knew more about SFX then them he told us we were free to go.. we had to beg to see the units.

We were there less then a half hour.

Paradise Village in PV is also easy and no pressured. We went with my SIL and BIL and they gave us 20% off our tours plus $200 off my husbands and BIL fishing trip.

Just recently at the Hyatt Pinon Pointe in Sedona for doing the timeshare tour we got out stay there at a reduced price, money towards spa services (don't remember the exact amount), discount tickets for various restaurants and attractions (including the Pink Jeep tour). Made for a very enjoyable get-away.

We got two First Class tickets on the Verde Canyon Railway for going to the presentation at Los Abrigados in Sedona. Well worth it.

I just remembered that we went to Smuggler's Notch many years ago and got a very discounted rate for a week plus $100 to spend in their terrific gift shop. We bought $100 worth of Folkmanis puppets, which made many kids happy as birthday presents for the next couple of years.

I was just at Manhattan Club and received a $100 gift certificate for dinner and two theatre tickets. I thought that was a great deal.

We received $100 in Olive Garden gift cards from Grand Pacific Palisades. $80 at Wyndham Palms plus breakfast. Most recently, we were in Williamsburg and ran into Westgate where we received $50 or $60 in cash plus 2 dinners at the Golden Corral and a couple other small items that I don't remember. We usually hold out for cash when we tour. One of the nicest resorts we toured this summer was in Gatlinburg Town Square. I don't remember the name of it but they gave us 2 tickets to Dollywood and 2 nights at a nice motel for $49. The resort was beautiful and owned by a company I have never heard of. We plan to exchange into it one of these years. If anyone knows of any great deals for touring in Branson, Carlsbad CA area or Sedona, those are our next visits. Debby

                  Sheraton Vistana Villages-Orlando

We were there in January and recieved $50 cash. I thought it was pretty good only being there for around 90 minutes. It is a nice place in a good location on International Drive.

We agreed to go to the presentation (45 min from home) and have dinner afterwards. The presentation was at 3:30. We were in Phillips Crab House at 4:10. The gift was a $50 GC to Phillips which is where we were going.

The salesman wouldn't even show me a unit because I told him we wouldn't buy direct from Fairfield. I was wasting his time.

At least we were all being honest

Before you take a gift from Marriott...

When we were on Maui, we did a presentation at Marriott and got a free adult on a Trilogy trip (worth $179) plus $100 gift certificate. Pretty good, right? Great, except that I just tried to book a promo stay at another Marriott for this summer, and we're not eligible b/c we did a presentation within the last 12th months.... So the nice $279 gift ended up costing us over $1000 in lost lodging savings. And that's the first time I ever violated my "no presentations unless it's a great lodging deal" rule.

Oh, that hurts. You have to be careful, Marriott has had that rule in effect for a while now. Can you book it for a few days later than you went last year? Just past the 12 month mark?

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

I was aware of the rule, I just didn't think I'd need a promo stay within a year... this was for Kauai, and our dates are set. But we ended up booking a few nights at the hotel in Lihue before we head north, using points, so it wasn't a complete disaster. And I have already decided NOT to drive myself crazy trying to get a flexchange into Waiohai at the last minute, so don't even go there....

What??? Are you sure about that??? It is Waiohai, one of their highest rated resorts.

Few years ago did an owner up date at Bonnett Creek. Got two disney hopper passes as gift. Turned out to be a special 5 day with 5 water parks. We still think they made an error in our favor. Still have one park day and two water park visits.
