  • Silverleaf Resorts & Spirit Incentives

My wife & I attended a presentation at a Silverleaf resort. Our incentives were a free cruise, free trip, and gas coupons. After the fact, I learned all of the prizes are handled through Spirit Incentives. In searching Google, it appears they are a fraud, but then I'm looking at a complaints link, which is about the 4th link on Google.

Has anyone had success with Spirit Incentives, or is it best to trash the papers?
Give me a place with 4 S's: Sun, sand, surf, & suds-Dale (from Illinois)

We use to get a lot of those from Silverleaf since we are owners but now they give owners CASH. I found that those certificates had a lot of restrictions on them for when you can use it. No holidays or the week before or after a holiday, no summers, no spring breaks so we could never find any dates to use them. All of mine went into a folder and probably are still there. You might even have to pay some upfront money to activate it, not sure.

    You should have got cash!!

Yes I have. I attended one of their presentations and received a free cruise and gas coupons. The gas coupons were a headache, so I just chose to do the free cruise. They give you this form to fill out with three travel dates that are good for you (can't travel 7 days before/after a major U.S. holiday and at least 60 days apart) and mail back. Someone then contacts you and ask you which port you are leaving from and then you send them a deposit based on the port ( mine was $200, which was port fees and taxes). So I did and a week later I received the tickets in the mail.

Things came up and I wasn't able to take the trip. I called them, Spirit, and they sent me my money back in about a week. Six months later they, Silverleaf, sent me another offer for a free cruise, (without me attending another presentation), and this time I took it (about 65 days after I got the letter). The port fees and taxes were $163. I went online to see how much the trip would have cost and it was $1,583.63 for an oceanview room, which is the room they offer. Other resorts only offer inside cabins and 3 or 2 day cruises. I don't know about you but I'd rather spend the $163 and have the same amount of fun as spending over $1500. We went to Jamaica for 7 days and 6 nights. The ship was amazing, clean, and never a dull moment, I hated to go to sleep b/c I didn't want to miss anything. Needless to say I would take the trip especially if it came from Silverleaf. I honestly believe that they are one of the best resorts on honoring their words.

        Happy traveling!!!!!
