  • Newest Timeshare Victim in Mexico. HELP!!!

    Please help me!!!
We are in a desperate situation!!!

I went to PV with my wife on March. We end up purchasing a Mayan Palace week there and when we got back and were reading the papers we found out that none of the verbal promises about renting our weeks and selling our other timeshares were in the contract.

We got scared and call them to cancel right away. They told us to relax because they would send the cancellation letter to us but we never received it. Now that I called, they told us that we should have sent a letter of cancellation within our five days cancellation period. We were taken advantage from Mayan Palace twice.

We felt frustrated and taken advantage of. While checking with other victims of Mayan Palace on the web, I found a law firm in Mexico. We were so desperate that we end up hiring their services.

Does anyone have any experience with this company? The name is Gonzalez law firm. Please if you have any past experience with this company or with Mayan Palace, let me know about your case. We are crossing our fingers because we can not afford another timeshare.

I am afraid this post isn't ringing true to me....what is it you are really asking for?
Life is short, live it with this awareness.

And I can't afford lawyers. Read the posts on this forum and you'll find that your best bet is to contact PROFECO - Federal Attorney's Office of Consumer in Mexico directly with the details of your case. Don't waste your money on Gonzales, it's just more down the drain.
... not enough time for all the timeshares ®

Instead of asking for your post to be removed, why don't you share just how all your issues were resolved? It may help some other person avoid becoming a "mexican victim".

              Good Morning,

The reason I need to ask the administrators to have this post removed is because the only way to have my downpayment back and cancelling my contract is by taking down this post.

I can't tell you exactly how I was able to cancel. I hired the services of a law firm in Mexico and they did all the work.

I'm not an administrator, so my opinion doesn't count, but considering the number of people who have posted messages like yours on this forum and gotten Profecto to act on their behalf and gotten their money back.......I have difficulty believing this. First, how would they know to be checking this forum? Second, considering that Mayan Palace Group is trashed day after day on this forum and others, how would removing this post do them any good?

I'm hoping that in addition to contacting Profecto about your entire situation, you will indicate to Profecto your "terms of settlement" with this attorney and with Mayan Palace. In other words........you may be being taken advantage of again with the goal of not having Profecto contacted about their sales practices YET AGAIN. They are not novices at having to yield to Profecto's power.

And then, once everything is resolved, I hope you would be willing to share how you managed to get it done. As you know, since you came to this forum for help, others may also be in the situation of asking. If you have an answer, please share.

We recently experienced the same situation in NV,(across the bay from PV). We hadn't heard from the guy in Mexico but we are currently looking into a company in the US that provides a 100% money-back guarantee to get the contract nullified. Before engaging them however, we will have checked them out as much as possible. Updates to follow.

Don't pay upfront fees to any of the vultures to get you out of a contract, start by contacting PROFECO - the Mexican consumer protection organization. Beware of any new poster boasting of success with a company they hired- shills are not at all uncommon from unethical outfits.

                          Gonzales shill?

This whole thing sounds like a shill for Gonzales to me.
