  • Mandy Patinkin working for Timeshare Relief?

    timeshare-relief?s Profile - Vox

This one gave me a nice chuckle.. Wonder if he knows?

I can see it now! He shows up at a seminar dressed as Inigo, waving a fencing sword- "I am Mandy Patinkin... You stole my photo... Prepare to Die!"

Maybe he offered up his consultancy instead of paying $2995 to rid himself of his timeshare. Surely, that must be it, David would not use his pic without permission.

Is your reply suggesting that the timeshare relief organization is a scam as well? I am about to enter into a business transaction with them if they are legit.

Are you paying an upfront fee to them? If so, don't....
Life is short, live it with this awareness.

Not a scam, TR is one of the oldest of the post card companies and they do what they say they'll do, but they do it for a fee. You must decide if the fee is worth it.

First, be sure you understand what is going on.

Timeshare Relief doesn't buy your timeshare; you pay them (probably about $3000) and they say they will take your timeshare from you.

Now step back for a moment on put on your thinking cap.

            First Point:
Let's say that your timeshare has zero value. Which means that whoever owns it has themselves in a money pit. Why, then, would they want it? If they own it then they have the money pit, and at some point they'll be stuck for even more money than you give them.

So, the first point to note is that if they actually do take over ownership of your timeshare, they are doing it because they're pretty sure they can get rid of it. The companies have lists of timeshares they will not take title on, because they know those units are worthless. Si of they will actually take ownership of your timeshare from you, it's likely that your timeshare has some residual value.

Most of the units they get probably wind up being listed on eBay as no reserve auctions with a $1 minimum opening bid. If your timeshare has value you could do that yourself and save yourself the $3000 you would pay to Timeshare Relief. Or, you can list it here or at TUG as a freebie, again saving you $3000. Or, you could just contract with one of the timeshare sellers on eBay to list it for you, and pay them less than what you would be paying Timeshare Relief.

            Second Point:
You might find out that if you do take them up on their "generous offer" that after giving them the money you haven't sold them the timeshare at all. What has happened is that you have given them a power of attorney, or something similar, allowing them to sell the timeshare on your behalf.

The problem here is that you still own the timeshare. You are still on the hook for any payments that are due. If they don't sell the timeshare, you are still liable.

We have had reports of people who paid several thousand dollars to these types of outfits, thinking they were free of their timeshare, and only later realizing they actually still owned the timeshare when they receive the next years annual maintenance fees.
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

            “You shouldn't wear that body.”

While the Troglodyte has all valid points, TR does transfer the timeshare.

It some cases they just get the HOA to take a deedback, something they would have done anyway for the member and without that hefty fee. All the PCCs are slime in my book.

                  timeshare scam

What is a troglodyte? What is a P.C.C.? The people I spoke with at the law firm said that my name would be removed from all correspondence, deeds, etc. concerning the timeshares. Additionally they said that my credit card account would be credited the amounts I paid for the timeshares. I will probably be making a decision Monday, the 12th. of April. Attorneys normally are not listed with the BBB. The timeshare mortgage relief outfit probably is the one making the guarantee of 100% money back if they can't get this done. The timeshare mortgage relief co. also is not listed with any BBB. Soooooo much "muck and mire" that I'm not sure I could trust what I'm seeing even in clear waters. Does anyone have a sure-fire recommendation that I can trust?
                  Thanks
