I mentioned this before, and still don't get it. I think about the resales I purchased (all over 5 years ago), and on none of them did I sign any agreement suggesting that I'd be on the hook for maintenance fees for the rest of my life. I can't really see how the resorts can pursue any type of judgement against anyone that did not sign any paperwork suggesting those terms.

We've talked about the "not signing an obligatory contract" thing in the other thread, and the answer, as it was said directly to me by the Fine Kettle board member, was "Covenants."
I did manage to find the Fine Kettle covenants online, and it talked about Coopershares being "members" with all the rights and privileges of "members", and plenty of verbiage about their right to have fees.
It is all typical vague, broad-stroke legalese that allows just about anything, without really spelling out anything. That would be the Board duties, to provide the owners with all the operational information, like a handbook, or an online access to information, or, at the very least, and email address to ask questions.
But, sure, don't pay and let us know.

FWIW, the original Coopershare assessment per unit was $1920/year, proportionately spread over 50 owners. I could find the exact figure, and you can look at your budget breakdown, down at the bottom where it is added on, but now it is like $6000 per unit per year.
That document also outlines LedgeStone golf course, and says the Association can set the fees for the use of it, and the fees can vary for different classes of members, and they do.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

I doubt you'd find anything 1993 era cheap if you compare it with todays prices,
except maybe the resale purchase price of the timeshares.
Do you pull wings off flies and call them walks?
