JFTR, I am not an irrational person and I have not always regarded timeshares, including the topic of the Exit Strategy, like I do today. Here I am almost ten years ago giving advice on how to get rid of them:

I was not speculating; I was telling someone how we had done it, and that it could be done.
Things have changed in the last ten years. That advice no longer applies. In many cases, it just can't be done any more. Not only can it not be done by giving them away for free, but it can't be done confidently (I would put that in bold and underline if I could) by giving someone who claims to take over ownership thousands of dollars to do so.
(Not that that sort of scenario should have ever been allowed by the industry's failings.)
As annoying as it might be to hear (read), or to hear (read) more often than one personally cares to hear (read) it, as it was to me when I was enraptured with our timeshares and people would come on forums and say bad things about them, the truth is what it is.
