  • $130,000 for 5 consecutive Prime weeks!

It is very seldom that things like this come onto the market, and I think the seller raised the listing price because of that.

On Ebay, there is a listing of 5 consecutive fixed summer SoCal beach weeks for $130,000 at Carlsbad Seapointe.

And yes, all of them will trade like tigers, but that is probably not the reason to buy, because the MF is $1024 per week.

I would never pay anything close to that. Wish him luck in selling but I doubt anyone will buy it. I wonder what it will cost him to sell it on Ebay. The listing fee along must have been fun.

yes, I agree, $130k is way past the true value of the weeks.

I cannot figure out if this is better to sell as a block of 5 weeks, or to sell the weeks one at a time. My gut prefers the latter.

Never sell TS before, but if sell in eBay, my gut is to sell them seperately, since the goal is to attract more buyers to bid. On the other hand, the seller probably know which magazine (s)he reads and can try to sell all that price there with an attractive ad. Some rich guy will want a block of weeks available.

There was a thread OY not long ago about someone asking what her friend should ask for four or five consecutive weeks at Orange Lake. As I recall, they were not especially good weeks.

Her friend wanted somewhere near what she paid for them retail and most replies were that that would not be very likely, that the only thing she had going for her was the consecutive week angle.

Two tours ago for us we got a really nice guy taking some time off from the Nike or dot.com or whatever tour it was that year. Since it is so nice at OL, I asked him about full ownership. Without missing a beat he said, "That would be 52 times $25000, and your annual fees would be 52 times whatever ($500-$600).

Gosh, Jenny had to hold me back, to keep me from jumping at that opportunity.
