Just got back from Vegas. Went with no intentions to buy. Guess what, we bought. Looking for info on how to maximize our purchase. This looks like a good place to start.

Cancel if you can, you can buy cheaper resales. Check your paperwork to see if you still can rescind (cancel) and follow the specific instructions to do so.

Your contract will contain explicit terms for rescission. You need to do it NOW (by law you have a limited number of days depending on the state, probably 5). Be sure to do it in writing and deliver it via the method stated in the contract (certified mail, etc.).
Then hang around here and learn a lot more before buying anything, then buy what you want resale...
You can buy a 5*/GC unit in Vegas on ebay for $1200-$2500 depending on size.

Oh well....
Like I said earlier I din't do any research because I had no intentions of buying. I looked last night and cancellation date was 5 days. Can't do anything but make lemonade out of lemons now. Now I need to learn how to use this thing. Looks like this is a great place to start. Thanks for the help although a little late. If things go well perhaps I'll purchase another in the future, but only after more research....

You can use your timeshare year after year or join an exchange company and then exchange for other timeshares.
If you want to know more about which exchange company would be beneficial for you to join, etc, then more info on your purchase will be needed so that the correct advice can be given.
By the way, welcome!Syd

GREAT attitude! I like that.
Is Vegas a place that you would visit regularly and actually USE what you bought?
Wht did you buy (resort, week, season, unit size or perhaps points)?
With that information in hand we can help you maximize your purchase.
What are your vacation preferences? Do you have a school schedule that you have to work with or can you vacation anytime? What are your vacation preferences? Where would you be traveling from?
You are not the first nor the last to buy from the developer but at the minimum we can assist in getting you nice vacations.
