  • Colorado, Where to buy?

I am considering a late cummer week in the Dillion-Frisco-Breckenridge area.
We are confortable with the area for bike paths, hiking, and canoeing on Dillion lake. It is geting a little too popular, trafic and all. Would the Winter Park area be a better choice, or maybe Estes Park? We would use the unit most of the time and trade thru RCI only when we have time conflicts. We don't need luxury, just location, nice quiet unit that is well kept. XC skiing in winter is better near Granby-Winterpark. Any recommendations?

We own in Avon and Vail and are very happy with our Colorado timeshares.

We love our timeshares in Fraser, very close to Winter Park. The shuttle stops at the resort to take skiers to the slopes. I think there are several resorts that are really nice, including Twin Rivers, Pines at Meadowridge and Indian Peaks, Lionsgate, and Silverado all in that area.

We have been paying assessments to get Twin Rivers updated and upgraded. There are huge decks now made of a composite material, because wood decks have a short lifespan and we needed something that would last for a lifetime. We also just updated the kitchens with granite countertops and hickory cabinets. This fall, we are adding Select Comfort king-sized beds to the masters and televisions into the bedrooms. I am on the board of the resort, so I am biased a little.

Steamboat Springs is nice too. We also own in Frisco and love that area, but the bargains are in Winter Park.

I don't know if you're wed to RCI, but if you're not you can get a 1 or 2BR Eagle Point unit in Vail very cheap (under $500). It'll usually get a bonus week with II.

Eagle Point isn't a flashy property, but it has a friendly staff and a commitment to reasonable MFs. Might be worth looking at.
