  • Thinking of buying RCI

Sorry to drop in out of nowhere as a new member with perhaps what are annoying questions seen multiple times. But . . .

My folks joined Vacation Internationale back in 1978. Two years ago, they purchased an additional week (we now have three in odd years), and my wife and I joined as co-owners buying perpetuity for our account. After attending VI's annual meeting last month, I learned a great deal about the company and came away quite disappointed with management and with some of the details I did not know in the past. Can you say "buyer's remorse"?

Already too long story short, my father just called to tell us that RCI was offering VI members a conversion deal of some sort for just under $3,300.00. With our current point status in VI, this would get us 8 weeks a year with RCI in perpetuity.

We know nothing about RCI and need to learn everything we can from independent sources by tomorrow (11/03) afternoon.

I welcome any and all information others might have.

    Thanks,

    Jeff

Don't do anything in a hurry until you hear from several people here who are well familiar with all these plans. I am not but I don't want you to get hurt or disappointed again.

I don't know that particular company either, but I do know that if you are converting to points, the 8 weeks they are talking about may not translate to 8 weeks depending on where you want to go, what size unit, what time of year...much good luck to you as you make a decision. I would also encourage you not to try to decide something like this on such a short deadline...I'll bet they'll offer it to you again if you really want the deal.
