In some ways that's to bad. It was definately more of a salesman's perspective than anything else and, it always seemed to be the same small group of people debating the same points all the time. Perhaps it's the same way here as well with just a few of us rather frequent posters covering our same philosphy's about the industry.

I really thought they had more than 20 years experience in the industry. Heck, I have 10 years as an owner and still feel like a relative newbie. I'm sure there are those here and OY that have owned timeshare longer than Street states they had been in the industry. It almost sounds as if the economics that are hitting timesharing have hit them as well. Maybe not. Maybe it was just time to move on. I suppose 9 years running a blog can seem like an eternity but, at this point in my life it seems like the blink of an eye.

I did enjoy the last video clip. It be funny to do that based on someone who just bought a week from a developer and now realizes they're past the rescind period and the salesman had lied to them.

They will be greatly missed. While the more recent blog tended to be more sales focused the original Timeshare Beat was a true owners advocate. I know from personal experience as they played a key role in our Association winning a lawsuit with our developer to get control of the Association. They never asked for anything but the truth and suffered financially at the hands of a corrupt developer they helped expose a few years back. Wish them the best on whatever they do next as they were class folks who wanted to serve the timeshare community.

For what it's worth, I really liked reading the sales office perspective. It's important to know how the "other side" thinks. I learned some good stuff reading over there.

I'll miss them too ! I once had an issue with them but through emails it was resolved. They showed me a lot about them in the action they took,
they are a great bunch of folks. Friday was always special for me with them.
          Good luck to Street !

I too will miss them. As mentioned above it gave me a different prospective.

Steet Talk ( and before them TS Beat) was one of the best places to see press announcements from the many different TS systems.

I often had seen the news before here and OY but about 1/3 of the time, Street talk was the first place I'd see info about a TS opening ect.

              I'll miss them.

I do not mean this in a derogatory way, but I won't miss them. Nothing about them; it's just that I won't miss them

They were a real asset to timesharing. It is sad that they are going out. Too bad they could not have found someone to sell the site too who would have kept it going.

Does anyone know why they closed it. I read the comments on the website and it looked like a few of them were willing to take it over.

Can only speculate. But the Hackmans basic business appeared to involve selling services to developers to increase sales efficiency - particularly in generating better qualified leads.

But with the entire developer sales business tanking as badly as it appears to be, they may have simply decided that they need to get into some other line of work.
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

                      “You shouldn't wear that body.”

I wonder if a list of lies, exagerations and things to leave out is among those necessary sales tools.
