We just missed you. We checked out on Feb 28th and have to agree with your review. Nice resort in a good location. We had a 2 bedroom lock off in building 5. If you had been there the week before you could have used the pool on Tuesday. That was the only day I was in a pool in Orlando for the 3 weeks we were there!

No this is the resort on Vineland, not next to Sea World but close by. It's near the Marriott Grande Vista. Also close to the Foundtains.

The parking is definetely inadequate for high season. They really didn't plan it too well but at least they have little golf carts and vans running all day and all night to pick you up and take you to your building. Of course I didn't figure this out until the next day when I walked about a mile. I needed the exercise anyway.

We were two ships passing in the night. We were in building 1 right near the tennis courts. It was too cold for this whimpy Floridian to go swimming. I did run into some nutty northerner who was soaking wet and telling me that the pool was great and really not that cold. Whatever.

I am on my second stay at this resort and wanted to share an experience we had yesterday. We are on open season and no maid service is included in our ressie. Around 140pm I get a light tap on the door. I had the metal clip on the door and when I get up to go to the door someone is using their key to get in. When I open the door, it's one of the cleaning staff. When I step out into the hall she goes literally running down the hall. There is no cleaning cart in the hall and there is clearly a do not disturb sign on the door. I try to stop her but she ducks into a room around the corner and disappears. Now, I've never had anyone run away from me like that before. I mean I'm scary but not that much.

Obviously her intentions were less than honorable. Why else was she literally running away?

Anyway, at 150pm we stop by the desk to speak to a manager. They were in a meeting so I leave my cell phone and name with the front desk staff and they assure me he will call me back. At 415pm I call back because I get no return call. The meeting was over at 4pm. Never got a call back after leaving two messages for them to please call me back. Today is check out day and still not a word about it so far.

I'm sure they could see who it was on their surveillance cameras but since I got no cooperation from the hotel management just wanted to share with anyone that the do not disturb sign means nothing here to the cleaning staff. I'm sure this happens all the time in hotels everyday but I was disappointed that I could never even speak to a manager about this.
So definetely use the hotel safe in the closet.

We had gone to the outlet mall and purchased several coach bags which might have gone missing had we left them in the room. They don't fit in the safe so I ended up putting everything in the trunk of the car.

Yikes - that's frightening Christine. While I'm typically a fairly laid-back person, I would definitely go "Daitcher" on them and demand some answers.

The most important thing is obviously that no one was injured and nothing was taken, but I would definitely want to speak to the manager ask him why this happened.

Unfortunately they haven't given me an opportunity to discuss what their policy is on the do not disturb sign. Maybe it's an oversight by management or possibly she is an illegal and just running scared. I can only speculate, but the way the management is handling this is definetely a cause for a Daitcher attack.

The scary thing is that this is my home resort and obviously that makes no difference to the management. Oh well, maybe this is a case of "treat the resale customers" differently that some talk about.

I must say that both of the rooms that I have received on open season have been corner units away from the busy section near the stairs on the extremes of the buildings. This definetely makes it easier for an employee to get in un-noticed and duck down the stairs in a flash.
