Following is an overview of the review that was added:

Great little older resort with a nice location in a quiet section of Branson.

I read your review with interest as we have stayed at this resort two times. Was this the unit in which the bedroom has no drawers, one nightstand and you use the whirlpool tub as a nightstand if you are on that side of the bed and the shower light as your light if you like to read? Is the tub and the sink in the room, and the toilet enclosed? there were 4 hooks in the room and you had to decide whether to hang a wet towel or your clothes from them?
I think the silverware tray was on top of the TV.
We got the top floor both stays. My husband had just been diagnosed with a hernia just before we left. I carried everything up all those stairs and we discovered no phone service in t he room. We had to drive back to the desk. We climbed up to a different unit, and it hadn't been cleaned. This time I sat on our luggage (and food) on the landing and called the desk and we were given a third unit.
It's like deja vu all over again, because he broke his right arm, and we just returned from a timeshare where I had to carry everything up a lot of stairs and this time the bedroom and kitchen were too small to turn around in.
When we were at Holiday Hills, even the big pool was unheated. The temperature was in the 80's, but the water temp was about 60. AFter the second visit, we decided to book elsewhere. The golf was $25 a round, but I think it was only $29 as outsiders. We played there once with JLB.

      Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

This may have been the same resort. Not sure since this is my first time but I think the room we stayed in had been remodeled because it smelled like new construction. You know that lovely chemical smell of drywall.

Our room had a night stand next to the jacuzzi and it had a light on it along with an alarm clock so didn't have to use the jacuzzi as a night stand. There was only one night stand though because the room is too small for two.

Yes there were hooks in the room but I hung the towels in the water closet where there were two towel racks. Maybe that's an improvement since you've been there.

Our room had a phone and it was very clean but that might be because everything was new. Now I never got any calls on it so maybe it wasn't working because no salesman ever called. I did try to listen to the voice mail because the little red light was always flashing but it always said I had no messages. Maybe I got lucky with a broken phone too. I use my cell anyway so really don't use the phone.

Our unit had new wood floors, new carpet, seemed like a new sofa sleeper and the bed definetely was new because it was very comfy. I've done old beds in TS's and this was definetely a lightly used one if not brand new.

The kitchen is definetely tiny. Small apartment sized. My tenants have bigger kitchens then this one.

The pool definetely wasn't heated anywhere on property which to me was a necessity, because it was still a little breezy at times while we were there but then my TS in FL turns off the heat in May too and for me that's too cold. Might just be me and my warm blood because there were other people in the pool who didn't seem to mind the cold water. Polar bears I guess.

When was your last visit? I think it's possible they have remodeled since your last visit. I wouldn't say this is the nicest place I've ever stayed but it certainly was far from the worst.

I probably wouldn't go back again but I did enjoy our stay.

the light was flashing on our phone too, right next to the bed, I had towels on top of it. I kept waking up thinking the ems was outside our window.
There were no towel racks when we were there and no place to hang clothes.
One thing that did change between visits was the first time, the coffee table was shaped like a sleigh. It had these huge runners that attempted to impale you as you passed by. There was an oversized chair and i felt like Lily Tomlin as Ernestine every time I sat in it.
        Yes, not the worst place.
The place we stayed in earlier this month - i have seen bigger bedrooms in motor homes and park models. the kitchen was even smaller. they actually had the dishes in the cabinet above the refrigerator. By the end of the week, we were totally claustrophobic.
I don't think they heat the outdoor pools in Branson.

We had the sleigh coffee table too but I thought it was cute. I guess it could be an accident waiting to happen in the dark.

I loved the oversized chair. You sink into it but it was a bit large for the room. Actually I was surprised how much furniture they get into that little space and yet you can actually get around pretty comfortably.

Our dishes weren't over the fridge, but the silverwear was in an upper cabinet because there was only one very small drawer. The kitchen certainly could have used more drawers but it is just too small to put anymore in without getting rid of the stove which is probably what they should have done or put in an apartment sized range and dishwasher. I've done lots of kitchen redos over the years and it could have been done better IMO.

I guess you are talking about the Lodge units. We just checked into Holiday Hills today. We are in a Presidential and this unit has been refurbished too. It is very clean with new beds and new living room sofas and chair. They got rid of the stick furniture accept for the tv stand and dining chairs. So far all is good.

Yes I was in a Lodge unit. The presidential units looked very presidential.

I kind of liked the look of the rustic cabin style of the lodge units. It was fun.

This review reminds me of Silverleaf Oak N Spruce in Lee, MA. I stayed in a very basic unit 2BR/2BA townhouse unit. The two bedrooms were upstairs and shared a bath. There were no waste baskets anywhere. The second bedroom did not have a closet - just a rack attached to the wall. The furnishings were very sparse. No main floor closet, just a peg rack on the wall. Other friends stayed in Presidential units which were very nice and worthy of the "silver" status RCI gave the resort. Another friend had a different unit/layout that was somewhere in the middle quality wise from the two described.
I would hesitate to exchange in again because of the vast difference in quality of the units. All were clean so that was not the issue.
Sounds as if the same is true in Branson.

                  Pat,

Originally I think they had me in the "RCI" exchange rooms because when I called to request a ground floor unit for Mom they moved me to the "Lodge" units but had to change my check in date. Didn't want a repeat of last year with my Aunt falling down the stairs. I'm trying to stay away from hospitals on my vacations.

I think the Lodge units might be a step up from the units near the Reception center since they are in the golf course side of the complex.

I'm just guessing but I was probably assigned one of the rooms more like what Rapmarks said before the move. My unit sounded a little bigger than hers.

There was no closet in the room but had one of those European style clothing armoires with hangers inside and a few drawers below to put clothes in. I'm not a big fan of those things but for a few days can deal with it.

                    Hi Hop!

Any word at this resort on their pet policy? It doesn't seem that the Silverleaf policy and the RCI "no pets allowed" statement on their site are in sync. We were thinking about a trip to The Villages (that we ended up being unable to do) a few months ago. I phoned the resort and they said it was okay to bring our dog, even on an RCI exchange. Pet fee went up to $75 but that is still much less than a week of petsitting costs.

Hope you are having a good trip!!

I don't know about Villages but I am at Holiday Hills right now and when I checked in yesterday I asked what the pet policy was because they asked me if I have any pets. He said owners are allowed pets but RCI no pets. I asked if an owner confirms in thru RCI are they allowed pets. He said yes, they will check their account to be sure they are an owner. But this is just Holiday Hills. I think you need to call each resort and be sure to get a name to refer back to if they say yes.

Thanks. When I phoned the Villages I specifically asked if I could bring a pet on an RCI exchange (they didn't ask if I was an owner or not - I'm not) and did get the name of the person who said it was okay. But then we grabbed an exchange to Wyndham La Cascada (sans dog of course) and we couldn't fit in another trip so I never "tested" the policy. Hope to maybe in the winter.

                        Enjoy Branson!
