  • Review: Disney's BoardWalk Villas

Following is an overview of the review that was added:

We had 5 in our unit (one under 2) and found it was tight, but do-able. And well worth it for the location!

    Please see the review here!

Please use this thread to discuss the review.

It's a great location but definetely 5 would be crowded that's why they limit the studio occupancy to 4 but with a small child I guess no one would know.

You'd definetely be more comfortable with 5 in a 1 bedroom even though it's pretty points expensive.

Glad to see another DVC member joining us.
    Welcome.

the location is terrific! Did you try walking to either of the parks or did you take the boat?

When we were at Disney last summer, we took the boat from the park just to check out Boardwalk. It was quaint and reminded us of the early vacations we took in AC, until the casinos took over. Wish DVS was part of II. Would love to trade again.

Five is allowed in a studio as long as 1 is a child under the age of 2. We were certainly not sneaking anyone in -- all were listed on the reservation. A 1-bdrm would have been more comfortable, but we were limited on how many points we had available. The studio worked out well for us.

Thanks for the welcome. Looking forward to learning more from everyone here!

We did walk to EPCOT. It would probably take longer to ride the boat there than make the short walk! We took the boat to DHS, though. We could have walked, but the boat ride was nice. Coming back from DHS it's faster to get off at the Swan/Dolphin stop and walk to BWV than make the rounds to the BWV stop.

A major factor for us buying into DVC was being able to stay in the deluxe resorts like BWV. I could never justify paying for a room at these resorts, but wanted to stay there so much! It was so exciting to finally get in the bus line for BWV after a day at Animal Kingdom or Magic Kingdom rather than walking by and wondering how the people in that line get to do it!

                Robyn,

Stick around and the pros here will show you how to get into that 1 bedroom or even a 2 bedroom for much less than DVC points prices.

Didn't mean to sound like I was scolding you. I personally have violated the occupancy rules at many places so I certainly don't pass judgement.

That's one of the reasons I'm here! We're taking an extended family trip next summer (late June 2011) and a good friend of my sister had 2 RCI weeks she couldn't use. She is letting my sister use them and we currently have 2 searches for any Disney property for 2-bdrm units. I'm hoping they come through soon, but am going to learn as much as possible - particularly any advantages we can give ourselves - to make sure we get something!

I didn't feel scolded by your post. Just wanted to clarify that we were within the occupancy limits lest any debates should start. I have been on a well-known Disney board for a while (don't know if we can post other board names or not) and there are some people who are very serious about occupancy limits over there. Haven't been on this board long enough to get a real feel for it. On this matter, I'm a live-and-let-live type, though!

So what weeks are you using to search for your DVC?

This is the problem with having so little understanding of timeshares other than DVC....I'm not even sure what that question is asking!

My sister's friend had a couple of weeks that she was not going to be able to use, so she deposited them, my sister paid for a guest certificate, and we are now waiting on a match. My sister can call RCI since she's listed on the guest certificate (and has the member's name & number). Would RCI be able to tell her what weeks she's using? I'm assuming that has to do with how "powerful" they are?

It's all kind of making me crazy, too, since I can't book our room with my DVC points until I find out where these 2 rooms will be!
