Hi Chris - Did you do the Hershey Park? How did it compare to Magic Kingdom? Did you think that the total experience was worth the trip?

I've been to both Hershy Park and Magic Kingdom. It's hard to compare the two. Hershey is more of the traditional amusement park, with shows for entertainment. Magic Kingdom, IMO, is more of an "experience" than an amusement park. There are a lot fewer rides at Disney, but it's more of a family park for those with small children. I believe Hershey is more appealing to adolecents, teens and adults, even though there are kids' rides.

            Elaine,

            Yes, I went to Hersheypark.

I agree with Longtimer. The two really don't compare as they are totally different experiences.

Hershey park is a coaster oriented park with 6 or so big coasters and water flume type rides. Great for teens. Not so great for me anymore since I can't ride like I used to. The park is really small compared to magic kingdom. You can walk it in a whole day and do all the rides in one day if you don't do the waterpark. The lines are much shorter than Magic Kingdom for sure. No fast passes needed or supplied. The rides seem to be manned by only a few employees, not the tons of employees I am used to at Disney. A little bit disorganized sometimes because people will leave their scooters and strollers in the line while they ride and you have to walk around alot of obstacles. Never would see that at Disney. The entrance fee is a bit steep IMO. $53.95for adults but the seniors get a nice break. I think because they aren't going to do any of the rides. 55 to 69 pay around $30.95 and 70+ pay $20.95. Honestly Seniors probably should get in free because if they are anything like my Mom, all she did was walk the park and watch us ride, so she overpaid for the privilege. Luckily I had two free tickets so it was reasonable for us.

They have a nice waterpark included in the park but I didn't bring my bathing suit. It looked like alot of fun. They have a waterslide ride that has one of those funnels. That looked pretty cool and I can see why the locals would buy a yearly pass. The waterpark and coasters alone would be worth having a yearly pass if you live nearby.

I saw lots of Hershey chocolates that I've never seen locally so ended up buying about 3 pounds of chocolates.

Now Disney is just so different as you are well aware. Really can't compare the two. Of course Disney has the waterparks but you pay extra for that.

I think it's worth a visit if you are in the area but not sure if I'd go to Hershey just for that park. They have a nice selection of kiddie rides including small coasters so maybe with kids it would be worth doing 2 days. One for the rides and one for the waterparks.

Obviously I'm a bit biased as to my loyalty, (hint my avatar) but I'm glad I went.

I actually enjoyed the Hershey Museum, Chcolate World and the Hershey Hotel more than the Hersheypark. There is so much to learn and see in this area including visiting the Amish country. They have something for all ages.
I can see why this TS is so difficult to get. Just surprised Wyndham hasn't jumped on this bandwagon yet. I hope they do soon.
