  • Review: Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas

Following is an overview of the review that was added:

Love this resort. It's such a fun stay but a little far from the magic. A destination in itself. Plan on enjoying the resort if you stay here.

Thanks for the review. I'll probably never stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge again because it's too far out by itself for me. The theming is definitely unique, though. I like the location of Wyndham Bonnet Creek better than Animal Kingdom Lodge.

That sounds like bed bug bites to me. I'd probably fumigate the suitcases and wash the clothes in extra hot water just in case.

Yeah, I'm afraid it is. I'm here at Bonnet Creek now and in a presidential suite at that. Thanks to Pat.

Gonna hit the lazy river again in a few minutes, just waiting for the full sun to subside as I don't want to get sun burned. At least BC heats the pool.

I'm washing my clothes here at BC so I don't take them home.

        Kidani Village

We had an issue with the thermostat also. After waking up sweating the first two mornings, we asked maintenance to check it out. They came up, punched a few buttons, and made it comfortable the rest of the week. Our unit was near the lobby on the second floor with a view of the exit of the baggage drop circle drive. The location was great for access to the lobby, but the drum music was also awful loud in our unit. It led to a dream that I was being boiled alive in a fiery pot surrounded by African tribes dancing and celebrating their upcoming feast. However, once the A/C was fixed, my sleep improved.
AKV is far from the magic, but their bus service was better than at any other DVC resort at which we have stayed.
Our kids (6 and 10) loved Sanaa. We arrived early and requested a table with a view of the savannah. The view might have distracted their tastebuds, but it is one of very few Disney restaurants that the whole clan wishes to revisit.

I probably should have called maintenance but honestly the rest of our unit was on polar setting so it was actually nice to retreat to my room temperature non artic zone. I guess if I had started sweating then I would have but since we were hardly in the room it wasn't that big a deal for me.
At night the air would go on and I'd just set it at 68 and it was fine.
I think the thermostat is a bit complicated. I wish they'd just go to a simpler on/off switch. I would turn it off but it never turned off. Whatever.
