  • Review: Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort

Following is an overview of the review that was added:

What a treat to stay at Bonnet Creek. Just as nice if not nicer than DVC. I'm sold. You will be too especially if you get a Presidential unit.

Wow! I'd heard good things about Bonnet Creek but those photos are wonderful!

So are there other pools themed differently? Maybe I'll toddle off to Google Maps and poke around with all that free time I have. You would post those on a day when I'm normally busy and decided to make a turkey dinner on top of the usual routine.

But I guess I shall quit wallowing in ingratitude and say, Thank You! Now I've got something to look forward to, should I ever get caught up today.

Honestly, I only stayed on my side of the resort. The place is humongous and there was enough within 200 feet to keep me busy all weekend. I did see the main lazy river pool just off the Main Entrance and it was nice too but much more crowded.

The resort also has a pizza joint onsite and probably lots of other amenities I never got around to seeing. I have to plan a trip back in the summer so I can try out all the lazy rivers.

              Presidential Units

Does anyone know if the couches in the 4 bed presidentials fold out into a bed. In the book it looks like they do but based on numbers they list was not sure. We will be there to Thanksgiving week with the family.

I was at Bonnet Creek myself last week and it is indeed a wonderful resort! Free shuttle to Disney and free internet! Fabulous service all around! This week we are at Disney Boardwalk Villas, $95 resort transportation fee and $10 per day internet access. We opted for dial up.

Yeah, all those fees add up at DVC. Lucky for me I already own DVC so don't pay all those fees, well at least not in the obvious way. I'm sure it's buried in my MF's but since it is I don't mentally see it, it doesn't hurt as much.

BC is a better option IMO for those exchanging in unless you have never done a DVC resort, then it's worth it but BC is definetely a contender for the prize. Makes Wyndham points oh so attractive. It seems since it is such a big resort that it's easy to get in there internally and I see alot of discounting of the points closer to check in which is great for me since I live so close.

Now that I've gone Presidential, there is no turning back.

The couches in the presidential units are not sofa/beds. At least the one we had in the 2bd unit at Glacier Canyon was not. Occupancy count also listed the presidential unit as sleep 6 instead of 8 like a regular 2 br.

I'm really liking what I see of Bonnet Creek.

Do any of the Disney resorts have a lazy river? People go on and on about Stormalong Bay, but I've never been able to figure out what's so keen about it.

I'd be more excited about Presidential if more of them would sleep 8. It sounds like the one dalesall and shorts are talking about is a 2BR, and if those only sleep 6, fine. But The Fountains, the snazzier Bluegreen resort in Orlando, has these lovely 3BR Presidential units with 2 kings and 2 double beds, that only sleep six. I've got five kids, and that ain't gonna work.

Of course, none of the Fountains Presidential units have a Lake Eve view - half of them face the party pool, and the other half face the road. But the extra space would certainly tempt me if I could just bring all my kids in there.

Oh, well. Looks like I'd rather have Bonnet Creek if we were going to Orlando to actually Do Disney anyhow.

Are presidential units only available to Wydham owners? We were told that during an "information session" with the sales staff there.
