I thought I heard that DVC members got free wi-fi? Although I always figured they'd be like Bluegreen and philisophically opposed.

Glad to hear they're replacing the scary clown. That guy would've kept me up nights.

I believe there is only wi-fi in Vero beach and yes internet access is free for DVC members but it's not wi-fi and it's only when you stay on your points. If you stay in one of the hotels you have to pay it. It's not a portable perk.

They may only be *refurbishing* the Clown, not replacing him. The "roller coaster" theme has always been there...

I'm checking in to a 1BR Garden/Pool view unit on Sunday. I *literally* cannot wait. I need to get the heck out of winter for a little while.

Well doesn't it figure that I finally get a chance to use Stormalong Bay and I didn't even know it.
They're certainly not sharing that info on check in.

I hope that clown is permanently gone. I think it's scary.

The top of the outlet in a few places would not work but the bottom would
This is most likely a "switched oultet" which means it is used for a lamp. So if you plug in and find it dead on the top, find a switch nearby and throw it on, it may come to life.

Good to know cause I encounter this quite often.

I'm happy to hear they are replacing the clown. He was pretty scary for the little kids.

And scary for the grown ups too.

Unfortunately I've heard that he's back.

Thanks for the posts. the Boardwalk Villas has always been a favorite for us, as well as a place of some very fond memories. It's location - so close to Epcot and the Studios - makes it even better. In fact, for a few years we owned a unit there, though no longer do.

That being said, the last couple of time we visited we traded into the Beach Club, with very good results. A big plus for BW comes if you have a view of the Boardwalk itself. Breakfast out on the patio overlooking the morning activity is great, and at night you can see fireworks at both Epcot and MK. Also, the rooms at BV are a little larger than BC. However, if you don't have a Boardwalk view, my preference lies with the BC. The main reason for me is that the complex is much smaller, and it is SO much easier to get to and from your unit. Navigating the BW is like navigating the Pentagon! Also, BC is a little handier to Epcot. But BW is much handier to the Studios, both walking and by boat.

Last of all, if you happen to have little kids (which we don't), the pool at BC is far superior.
