Relaxing, rejuvenating, total pampering experience. Will return over and over. The staff make this resort. It is an elegant, all inclusive stay with 24 hour room service, no kitchen needed.

Pam, now that's what you call a trip report/review all in one. Wow!! I am so glad that you got such an incredible vacation after what you've been thru.

Your report made me want to go there. How much was the all inclusive?

I hope someday we will be able to meet. Glad you met Emmy & Peter. She is really great. Karen is also nice and she survived being my roommate!! All of the 4Mers and tuggers I've met were just great.

Sorry to hear about your complication and hope after this is taken care of you will have clear sailing and many many more vacations.

We have been here a few times for lunch so haven't seen any accommodations but what we have seen of this resort is really beautiful and in true Mexican style. I love the old Mexican style of buildings.

What a great review, Pam. You describe it so well and it feels like I am there right with you. I love the big trees and the view on the golf course from the restaurant terrace as it is so peaceful and they will take you to their beach club any time you wish which is very close. I have some photos of this resort from when we were there but would have to dig them up. Did you make some?

The staff and waiters are the best and our meals were very good. The Velas Club has four resorts now. We have visited friends at the Velas Vallarta, where you were first, but never stayed there or had a meal but we have stayed many times at the Grand Velas in Nuevo Vallarta which is also a beautiful resort but with a mandatory A-I fee too just like the Casa Velas.

When you own there, the fees are really not bad at all as eating out in the tourist area adds up very quickly when having a few drinks plus it includes one massage per day per person too and don't forget the drinks at the pool.

The RCI fees are so much higher and ridiculous, imho. We would never pay that but some people do as they have posted here or OY.

Thanks Shaggy and that is not even my Trip report just the review of Casa Velas. The AI fees are different depending on how you book, there is one price thru RCI, other prices when booking thru travel agent, or hotel directly and then another price for owners and owners of sister resorts. Initially cost seems high, but as Emmy stated above once you start eating out at some nice restaurants and having drinks and such you are in the range anyway and the drinks and food are just wonderful...
