We exchanged in on a GPX exchange. We were hoping for 2 beds 2 baths but we got only 1 bath. The layout was weird. Both bdrs had King beds which is a plus for us but one of the bedrooms had a large opening on to the living room like a window with just blinds for privacy. That is probably because the A/C units are in the bedrooms. There is also a wall fan in the same un-private bedroom to blow some of the chilled air into the rest of the unit. The one bath is as far away as it can get from the bedrooms, right inside the front door. There is a sink in the nedroom that does offer privacy. Both bedrooms had a separate balcony overlooking the pool and the ocean. We squeezed 4 people onto one of them one night and it was tight but not unbearable. Both bdrs had 40+ inch TVs and there was a 48 in the L/R. It rained from Monday afternoon until Thursday night so we were happy to have the comforts of home.
This resort took a lot of damage last year from Hurricane Matt but they are close to finished the repairs. The pool was nice and plenty big. I was told they are putting in a fire pit but they just started that work. There is a bar that serves burgers, pulled pork and mini pizzas along with your beverage of choice. That just opened in May and I was told they are considering adding a restaurant. Sammy and Dave will take good care of you at the bar but beware of the rum punch, it packs a punch.
We had good meals at the Stonewood, the Beach Bucket and LuLu's. Not so good at the Black Sheep but Irish food doesn't do much for me. We got three recommendations that we did not get to try. The Grind is just over the bridge on 40, Riptides is a half mile south on A1A and there is a German restaurant about a half mile north on A1A. If anyone goes, let us know how they are. I suspect we will be back in the area again.
The beach in Ormond allows vehicles on it. That was a first for us. I always thought the sand would be dirty if cars were allowed on but mother nature seems to shrug that off.
