My husband and I spent two nights at this lovely converted Bed and Breakfast as part of an Aviawest promotion. We were greeted by Jay when we arrived. He appears to be the manager there and was warm, friendly and funny. We were too early for check-in, but he showed us the computer area and said we could check our email or the internet if we wished. The location is literally 3 or 4 blocks from the inner harbor so we left our car there and walked over to do some sightseeing. When we returned, Jay assigned us to a lovely, large room that was beautifully decorated. The one closet was small, but we didn’t unpack our suitcases.rnrnThe room had a wonderful gas burning fireplace that lit immediately with the flick of a switch. We had wonderful sunlight in the room as it was on the corner of the house, lined with windows. The bed was very comfortable as was the pull-out sofa. There are no kitchen facilities in the room, but there was a coffee maker.rnrnWe were there over Memorial Day weekend so there were two seatings for breakfast. We signed up for our seating upon check-in. On the first day we were served grapefruit with brown sugar (or a fruit salad for those who preferred that), followed by warm scones. The “main” dish was a freshly baked apple pastry. All were tasty and one person at our table wasn’t able to finish but I didn’t think it was a particularly hearty breakfast. Orange juice and coffee or tea were also provided.rnrnThe second morning we had a peeled, fresh pear half, drizzled with raspberry sauce, followed by a corn muffin, and then 2 eggs baked in a ramekin, 2 pieces of bacon, and a slice of toast. Again, not extremely hearty, but enough for me.rnrnI must say that the house is not well sound proofed and we could hear the people above us walking around. Since it’s in a residential neighborhood, there was traffic going by that could also be heard, along with the pleasant sound of the horse drawn carriages clip-clopping down the street. I would happily return to the Rosewood Inn and I just loved Victoria.rnrnThe timeshare promotion was low key but we were kept for the entire time. They are promoting RCI points which could be used at any of their local resorts, including Pacific Shores, and a place in Vancouver. We didn’t bite.
