We were there a year ago and enjoyed our stay. I would not have rated it quite as highly since the place has aged a little. Howeve, it was a great resort and we did have a beautiful view. The people were very freindly and helpful.

The reviewer was there in 2003.

How was it going to different parts of the island?
Was the resort within walking distance of the town and restaurants?

I do believe that the resort is up the hill from St. Georges. There are some restaurants in the town. The public transportation is very good, so you won't be stuck in one place. You buy a pass and you can go all over the island. You can take a bus or ferry. It is quicker taking the ferry to some places. The Perfumery that was mentioned in the review is now in the town of St. Georges. We've went to Bermuda the last two years in the fall by taking a cruise. Total time on the island is about 3.5 days when taking a 7 day cruise. Restaurants seem rather expensive on the island. So we did most of our eating on the ship, so I can't recommend any. The island is British, people are very friendly. Nice place to visit.

Yes, the TS is within walking distance of the center of town, restaurants, bus, and ferry. It is on a hill overlooking the habour and all you have to do is walk down a steep hill. Going down is very easy but going up was a little harder. We ate at a few restaurants on the square and the food was fine but quite expensive. Be prepared to go into a pub type restaurant during the day and pay $25 for a plate of fish and chips and a beer (or soft drink). Buy a transportation pass at the airport and you can use it for unlimited bus and ferry service. We bought a week pass (seven day) and only used four days on it.

Don't order to much from the delivery service because the items are quite expensive. I ordered 3 cans of diet coke and the order was intrepreted as three packs of 6 cans each - cost $8.50 for each pack. The supermarket (which you can walk to) has a nice selection of freshly prepared salads and hot food.

If you arrive on Saturday, make sure that you buy your food and transportation pass that day because just about everything is closed on Sunday.

            Enjoy your stay.
