  • Review: Laguna Surf

Following is an overview of the review that was added:

Great location in the heart of Laguna Beach! Comfortable resort close to everything, especially the beach. Units are small but do the trick. Definitely get ocean view if possible.

Gordon thanks for the review. I can't wait to go.

One small thing for your next stay. The back of the bureau that's in the bedroom comes thru the wall of the living area. It lifts up to become your dining table! Pretty cool huh?

    Very clever.

I am not thrilled with streetside but my circumstances are quite different. We walk the half - mile up to my Dad's who is beachfront and has a pool.

Oooh! That is clever. I had half lifted it up the first day we got there, wondering if it was a cover for something but then dismissed it. Now I know. Thanks Lawren.

Gordon, I wonder how many other people miss this feature? I guess it should be mentioned at the front desk or in the book about Laguna Surf. It becomes a dining-room table in the living-room area and part of the bedroom chest of drawers is in the living-room hidden behind the table top leaf when it is hanging down. I don't know how better to explain it but it gives the appearance that the unit is larger than it is. Every inch of space is used because of the high property values on the beach. I found an old picture that explains it better but that was before the kitchen cabinets were remodeled.

We have invited family and friends often to stay with us and we ate all four at the small dining-room table, if it was too cold on the balcony. It's a great computer desk too. Here are some old pictures before the remodeling and here a few after the remodeling.

We don't mind that the condo is small so long we face the ocean.

          Nice review,
If you are staying on the 'highway' side, is there a place to 'hang out' outside to see the ocean?
A deck area or pool/spa area that faces the ocean?

As your signature state Emmy a picture IS worth a thousand words!

Between the dining table and the murphy bed DS decided it was "spy" furniture when he stayed there. Another California beachfront thing I always have loved are pocket doors that slide into the walls instead of using space to swing. The bedroom doors at Laguna Surf do that too.

There is a spa on the roof and a common area down some steps toward the beach. Emmy's "old" pictures will give you a nice look at both. BTW it IS the Pacific Coast Highway but it is only one lane in each direction. Not like the LIE.

Although I would PREFER oceanfront, I wouldn't feel too bad as long as there is a place to sit overlooking the water....

Pat, if you click on the website here: (www.lagunasurf.net), you can see the common patio area that overlooks the water. We hung out there a few evenings to watch the sunset and catch some of the afternoon rays. The only problem is those benches aren't the most comfortable, so one of those folding captain's chairs would be a good thing.
