    Nice glowing review.

Looks as this is on the BG list as an associate resort, so now I have to ask questions...
Where do you fly into? Bluegreen website says Southwest Florida International (RSW).
Does the island have 'stuff'?-grocery store, Target or Walmart, of course a scrapbooking store is always nice, but other than that, you know...stuff?
Besides the beach walks, was there anything else that should be experienced: fishing, touristy stuff?

      Vintner:

Many of your questions may be answered here: Sanibel Island & Captiva Island - The Best Vacations in Florida

Your Daily Island Fix is a message board (to the right on the best of sanibel website) with more answers.

When we went last year, we flew to Tampa and drove down. There is another regional airport near Fort Myers, I forget the name.

Many folks shop at Publix or another grocery store in Fort Myers before crossing over to Sanibel. Whatever you forgot may be purchased at Bailey's, which is a nice grocery.

Ding Darling Refuge, the Shell Museum, and cruises are some of the other things to do.

        Good site, thanks.

I'll check into that with the wife. I'll do what ever she lets me.

Ft Meyers RSW is about 35 minutes by car. Sarasota SRQ is 2 hours.

There is a Walmart Superstore where we stopped before paying the $6 toll to cross to Sanibel/Captiva. There is a very nice upscale market mid-strip called Jerry's. Not outrageous by NY standards. A great deli named East End right up the road from Surfrider.

The beach. Lots of bike paths, shelling of course, the refuge was a nice afternoon trip. The beach. There's a super consignment store with a very nice woman across from the CVS where you will be buying your soda/beer/wine. The recommended dolphin trip was sold out so can't say yea or nay about that. Of course the beach.
