Thank you for the wonderful review. We are leaving for this resort in March and needed to decide if a rental car was for us. This review provided a lot of good information.

Frank, when i was there in may 08 it wasn't. The entrance was a huge tent and another section was just being built.

Hopefully, someone there more recent may have an answer.

There was no construction going on when we were there last April. The new Grand Mayan lobby and pool were finished. The employees told us that there was no construction planned for the foreseeable future.
