At a certain other site it was rated 10 for a long time, until someone came along and spoiled that.

As I recall, it was foo-fooey type person who did not enjoy lakey-outdoorsey type vacations. One of the complaints was having to stay and sleep with dead animals.

Some folks seem to get a kick out of stuff like that (nit-picking not sleeping with dead animals).

It is kinda weird with those animals all over. I do remember when we were last there, we had stayed in the lodge. The bench by the table was (ugly as all get out) not a good place to sit. However, the coffee table by the TV did fine for a table substitition and the couch was comfortable. Another thing I remembered was the paddle/peddle boat we took out was bad. It had an adjustable seat that kept popping off which meant you couldn't go anywhere because you had nothing to hold onto when peddling.

I also remember it being hot and traffic that didn't move. That was because we were their on the July 4th week and everyone else was there too.

We will be staying in a cabin when we are there in August. I think that will be more comfortable. It will probably have more animals though. I just hope it won't be as hot.

Johnny Morris is very particular about stuff, but the rental fleet bumfuzzles me. I expect it to always be in tip-top ship-shape, but . . .

When we bought our house in '97, it came with a boat slip. We had no intention of boating but we were at Bass Pro in October, '97, and they had 11 deck boats that had been in the Big Cedar rental fleet for just 3 months and were in great shape. Those boats had been replaced in the rental fleet by the new-design Tahoe deck boats.

So we got one of the used ones. We still have it and it is still in great shape.

But, last we noticed, Big Cedar still has those old Tahoes and they were in horrible shape.

Johnny Morris has been rebuilding Top of the Rock golf course for 3 or 4 years. The word is he is not satisfied with what they build, and tells them to do things another way.

I am planning on running my resume' over to personnel, for Player Services at TOTR, because it has to open some day. (not that I'm not happy where I'm at)

You're right about those paddle boats!

I always forget about that when I do the reviews! We had one last year in which the pedals were broken. I could do one stroke forward and then it would jam. I ended up having to go all the way back into the dock BACKWARDS. It stunk!

The powerboats and the pontoons have always been nice, though.

Does any one know anything about the presidential suites and concierge suits at the Wilderness Club Big Cedar - Bluegreen.

That building is scheduled to open within the month.

I was there over Memorial Day and was told the new units interiors were essentially done. They were working on stonework for a pool / water feature outside.

The points costs for these new units is HUGE so I can't wait to see them personally. They are about the same size as the existing 2 bedroom units but aren't lockoffs - they are dedicated 2 bedrooms. They have very large balconies with what appears to be very nice balcony furniture.

I'm told the interiors are top of the line luxurious everything. The interiors of the existing Big Cedar units are already pretty top notch, so it is hard for me to imagine that it would justify the points cost.

I'm looking for these units to show up in Bluegreen's bonus time because I think few people will lay out the points required for these units. We're in the bonus time window for late summer and so far nothing is hitting bonus time.

Johnny Morris has bought Paradise Point, the troubled-from-the-start timeshare/full ownership/Christian-based/Etc. condo project on the north side of the point which forms Big Cedar Cove on the south. The road that goes past the lakefront cabins runs on over to Paradise Point.

It is being marketed/promoted vis a vis the traditional tour/premium method.

We useta stay at Redbud Cove, next to Paradise Point, before Paradise Point was there, and when we were house shopping, one we looked at is on Paradise Point grounds, & they now own it. We wonder how that would work . . . having a house inside their gates, and not owning any of the land around it.

PP has gone through several metamorphises in 15 or so years, and is yet to emerge as a butterfly. Maybe now, with the Johnny Morris touch. I heard he has a HUGE line of credit lined up for it.
