Paradise Village
Nuevo Vallarta
We were here for a week in a 2 bedroom unit in Uxmal building. # 1815.
The check in was simple but we arrived quite early so room was not ready which was fine as it gave us time to go grocery shopping.
The unit we received is a renovated room. The room was nice and mostly new though some things were carry overs from previous rooms like oven hood, toilets, etc. Some things never change, the couch in living room though appeared a new style and new, incredibly uncomfortable still. Beds were fine. Kitchen is much smaller than older 2 bedroom units. Actually the whole unit is smaller and no washer/dryer unit, surely missed. It serves the purpose though and is more updated mostly.
We cooked breakfast& dinner in most nights ( thankfully we brought our George Forman. No more 4 burner stove and oven, just two burners. We had lunch on the beach or by the pool, Food and service were good. Location of Uxmal building is great for walking out onto what is supposed to be adult or quiet pool and beach.
Amenities in room have dimished or disappeared. Shampoo and soap are in stationary containers with no bar soap whatsoever, nor dish soap.
Pools as usual have few umbrellas and are crowded. Palapas on beach remain great. Parking continues to be an issue, seems not many care to use underground parking especially in rainy season.
Staff were slightly more friendly than other visits but no raves on hospitality.
Finally check out was easy as they had simplified that to a degree. Funny in order to release charge card hold they had to charge one peso. Not much but do that to hundreds/thousands of check in's and it adds up. Very unnecessary fee even if minute. No longer made to feel like you were going to steal a plate or such, that was a huge improvement overall.
Overall we had a time, our unit worked out great, everything worked and anything missing we got by without or bought. Certainly would return though I still like the older 2 bedrooms in Coba building better.
