I was just notified by the mgmt group ResortCom of the following change:
" The Villa Group just announced they would no longer accept "contract splits" where the original purchase date was 1992, or earlier. This applies to Villa del Mar and Villa del Palmar (Pto. Vallarta)."
Basically, what this means is that they are no longer allowing older multi-week contracts to be split when sold so the seller keeps a week and sells the other..

I don't think I've posted info about the transfer process or general info for these properties before, so here goes!
First step is simple: the seller must contact ResortCom to request an estoppels and also a transfer form.. Both parties will execute the assignment docs in the presence of a notary. The seller's original contract must be submitted with the transfer docs
In March 2010- the transfer fee was increased to $150. for member data bases #11 - #12 - #15 - #16 - #18 - #21 - #23 - #25 - #26 - #27. (Don't worry about the numbers, that is an internal method of inventory control that ResortCom uses.. I've posted info about this below.)..
October thru December, transfer requests can be impacted by the maintenance fee billing. Fees must be current and are due in either Nov or Dec in advance of the usage year! Plus, if a transfer request is received by ResortCom between the time the fees are invoiced to the seller (mid to late Oct) and the due date (late Nov to early Dec)- the maintenance fee payment must be sent in with the transfer request.
