This one can be tough.....
The transfer fee is 10% of the original purchase price payable to Paradise Vacation Club (which means it is not unusual to see a transfer fee in the thousands!)..
Buyer and Seller will have to notify the resort of their written intent to transfer, and the resort Contracts Administration dept will prepare an Assignment of Contract form that has to be signed and notarized by all parties. Everyone is also required to send in a copy of a drivers license or government issued photo id, and everyone must disclose their social security number to the resort! All signatures on the form must be originals, and no power of attorney signatures are allowed.
Maintenance fees must be current and any loans must show as paid in full. It can take some time for everything to complete so patience is strongly recommended for this one!
Also, it's important to know that EVERYTHING transfers to the buyer! Existing reservations, banked points, current year usage, etc..
Per the resort, if the membership being sold was previously bought on the secondary market- it can not be sold to a current owner without the Club's prior approval. If they allow the purchase by a current owner, it cannot be merged or combined with the existing membership.
Estoppels can be faxed to attn Contracts Admin at 949-837-1298.
