If they want to buy it be sure they do not ask you for an up front fee. YOu should not be paying them they should be paying you

Contact your resort directly. Ask them to explain both the transfer process as well as the required transfer fee that will be needed to change ownership to another name.

Be aware that there are numerous scams operating that have purchased owner lists of Mexican timeshares. They cold call these timeshare owners, and give them an "offer" that is way above true market value for resales. They will tell you there is no upfront fee, but they then send you to a fake closing agent who is located in Mexico. The fake closing company later tells you that you need to pay some type of tax (normally around $2,000) before they can release your funds.. If you pay that "tax", you never hear from them again.

It's just another version of the upfront fee scam- but this one is even harder for authorities to stop since part of the fraud comes out of Mexico.

The same scam has been reported HERE involving companies called West Palm Resale Brokers and also another (or perhaps the same one) called Austin Resale Brokers.

      Be very careful..

I was contacted by a well known closing company that had a client contact them about an "offer" from a group by this name.. They confirmed this is the Mexican tax scheme I mentioned previously in this post.

Unfortunately- like most things in life that seem too good to be true- these highly inflated "offers" on Mexican timeshare resorts are just another timeshare scam looking to steal money from timeshare sellers..

ANY group that calls YOU is 99% certain to be an upfront fee company. What are those? A group that makes great sounding promises to rent/lease/sell/transfer/etc your timeshare or system membership points at a good to great price. They often claim to have a buyer or a renter or a group wanting space, etc - but then YOU have to pay to assure the process gets done. In realty that is all they really want - the upfront money paid by you and they can basically disappear (you'll hear nothing more from them & they will be very hard to impossible to reach) to go after the next victim.

DO NOT try to deal with them as it is a scam. Forget any "guarantees" as they are unenforceable (ask yourself what recourse you'd have if you couldn't reach them tomorrow or they simply never followed through with the promises made). Forget any protection from a credit or debit card. They have things set up so what you are promised meets the minimum requirements to assure they, not you, get paid.

DO NOT try to use them or you will be out whatever money they manage to get from you. THAT is a guarantee you can bank on unlike the meaningless, unenforceable one they are trying to lure you in with.

                      Dallas Resale Group

DRG has to be a scam. They sent me an income tax bill from Mexico in US Dollars! Duh! It does not pass the smell test.

You'll notice the "boilerroom echo" if you talk to these guys. I signed a purchase agrement, but to enforce it, they'll have to sue. I have not heard jack since I quoted terms of their "agreement" and sent posts from this forum to d_price.

                      SCAM!!

As stated on previous posts do not deal with these people. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau as well as the Texas State Attorney General's office. I don't know how these people live with themselves.

I fell for this scam and I'm ready to go after these thugs. Did you fall victim to them as well? If so, did you attempt any legal action? I would appreciate any information you can provide and maybe we can stop this scam before it ruins someone else. Thanks!
