If I give away a timeshare for free, what are the requirements to transfer the deed? Do I need a closing agent to handle it?

Not necessarily, but some states require a lawyer and Hawaii may still have some requirements. Then there is the question as to whether the buyer or seller will pay for the transfer.

Provide us with the name of your resort and we may be able to give you some specific guidance. You will also want to contact your resort's owner services department. You will need to ask about any resort specific transfer requirements such as a transfer fee to the HOA or the developer.
