  • Family transfer Diamond (DRI)

Has anybody done this? Our daughter and family own 4000 DRI points in the U.S. Collection and can no longer afford the maint fees. We are silver owners in DRI and have Calif Colliection and deeded in Kaanapali Beach resort. We want to transfer the US coll. points to our account (family transfer) and have them available in our account instead of a stand alone in our account. I have been told by at least a dozen people at DRI that this can or cannot be done and can't find out if there is a real answer. It seems that it should be a no-brainer since it is within the family.

    Help!

I suggest that you go to the DRI Message Boards (follow the link that is near the bottom of the page after you login at the DRI website) and post your question there. The DRI employees who run the message board are well placed and reliable sources of information.
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

    “You shouldn't wear that body.”

Not exactly the same, but an indication that DRI may be amenable, on another timeshare forum someone had posted that DRI takes weeks back if you are over 75. They said it is not easy to find how to do that, but you can.

I can direct you to that discussion if you like. PM me, so as to not promote another forum on this forum.

Thanks for the replies. I am only 66 years young, so the return policy for Diamond is not yet an option. We wanted to add the points to our existing collection and be able to use them as a package.
Since posting this question, I received a call from the Diamond department which handles these transactions. They say that since we are family we can take the points from our daughter and incorporate then into our portfolio. The only limitation is that we can only use the 4000 points for advance (13 month) reservations in the US collection which is the same for our Calif. collection points. At 10 months we can use all of the points to make reservations everywhere. We are going to proceed with the transfer and hope that the information is correct and we don't end up with 4000 stand alone points.
