  • Giving Back a TimeShare that is paid off....

Hello I am Sally and I am new to forum. HELP!!! I own a timeshare at lake tahoe (embassy) now DRI. It is paid for along with 5500 extra points that i bought in Sedona. I have a total of 16,000.

I cannot afford the MF anymore. It runs close to $1800.00 a year. Please any suggestions?

I am done with this money pit....

There is a whole forum devoted to DRI. They used to have a Buyback program but the economy has changed that. They may take it back from you, email
Patrick Duffy (Patrick.Duffy@diamondresorts.com) Chief Experience Officer
    and/or
    Jeff Shelton (jeff.shelton@diamondresorts.com) Executive Resolutions
and see if they willl get it off your hands.
... not enough time for all the timeshares ®

If Diamond won't allow you to relinquish the ownership, let me know. Depending on the type of ownership you have, I may be able to refer you to a resale broker who works that market.

Also, check with family and friends to see if anyone wants your ownership. You can also post in the freebie section of this forum to see if another owner wants to add to their portfolio.

Many Diamond contract types can be a tough sell, however, so you should use Spence's contacts first to see if the developer will give you a release from the ownership.

Don't pull this thread off topic.. If you have any helpful suggestions- those would be appreciated. Conversations about the value of timeshare ownership belong elsewhere.

Thanks in advance for you cooperation.
