  • My Myrtle Beach Trip / May 6th

Sat finally rolled around and we were off!! I had taken Monkey to the sitter the night before, arranged for the cats to be fed, etc, prepacked and set up for a stress free trip. As most of you know my Mom turned 95 a couple of weeks ago and her health hasn't been the greatest so I needed this trip!! I chose MB so I could be close to Mom if something happened. I stopped off to see her on the way down and ordered her to stay well for one week and not to call me unless she was dead (just kidding) We have a special relationship!!

I made it to SOB ( South of the Border) and stopped to take pics and just reminisce about all the changes . Then on to the beach and the Sheraton Broadway. I had asked for top floor, didn't want to hear all the thumping from other familes. I got stuck on the 2nd floor of building 12. My patio overlooked the lake and I was within easy walking distance of the pool. Much to my surprise I didn't hear any noise from above or below. I was very impressed. It was the most soundproof I've ever been in and the beds were fabulous!! Oh my, so comfortable, I was a happy camper!!

Since Donald, Kristi & Brittany were getting in late I deceided to find Mrs Fish. I looked and looked and couldn't find it ( even with directions) so ended up going to Pier 14 and ate outside to watch the sun go down and just relax. I was so disappointed in the food. I have never had a bad meal there but I did this time. Too tired to complain headed back but not before being stopped by my 2nd ts hawk. I negotiated 3 tix to the Alabama theater and 2 tix to the Ripley's Aquariam. This was a Bluegreen preview and I was kind of interested in this anyway. When I checked in I got 2 tix to Carolina Opry to do the Sheraton Broadway. ( I was doing well!!)

When the kids got in they fell in love with the resort and I have such cute pics of Brittany in the jacuzzi tub. She wanted to go swimming so off we went to the indoor pool. After telling Donald about the gifts he wanted in on it too, so called Chris and arrainged for him to get 3 tix to Ripleys and 1 ticket to Alabama theater. ( He doesn't do country.)

Very happy with the way the day turned out I happily went to bed.

    MB Sunday, Day 2

Donald and I took off to see our presentations with Blue Green. He did the one on the inlet where he was very impressed and I went to Shore Crest where I liked the ocean view but not the rooms. Not near as nice as Sheraton Broadway. The salesman couldn't argue that point but he was very pleasant. He told me how he got cheap rooms at hotels and I told him how to get great exchanges. The closer came out and didn't try to close me, he tried to get me to come work for him!! They both thought I knew how to work the system better than them and I had been ts for so long they thought I'd be great and make tons of money. Oh well, someday.

I fixed a good breakfast ( Brittany said it was a real breakfast) She said it was better than her chocolate chip cookies she had for her first breakfast. I let her put on my makeup and when she finished she looked like a clown. Big red cheeks and blue eyeshadow. I don't think Mom & Dad were too happy but that's what Newnews are for. She calls me that instead of Nana.

We went to Ripleys to see the fish and Kelli & Brittney had a blast. They were everywhere . I had more fun watching them than watching the fish. Afterwards we went to Hard Rock for lunch. It was not my choice but they had never eaten at one so that's where they wanted to go. Just buy a shirt, don't eat there. Walked around Broadway at the beach and then went back to the resort as it was raining cats and dogs.

Fixed a nice supper of spaghetti and of course Brittany wanted to go swimming again so we had a great time. Everything was going hunkey dorey!!

        Shaggy,

So far, it seems like you are having a great time, and you haven't mentioned even one catastrophy......

I'm glad that you are happy with Sheraton......

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

You will love this place!! I didn't access the internet. I don't do that on vacation. ( I know I'm weird. ) There is internet access in the lobby. I saw lots of people using their laptops. I also saw a real computer.

For the best fish I've ever eaten (even better than Hoskins) go to Mrs. Fish!! Get directions from the concierge. It's a locals place, no adds, they only get business from word of mouth and believe me it's awesome!! Have fun. shaggy

Phil, in case you didn't read in another section the food is served on paper plates and plastic forks but that doesn't affect the food, only the ambiance.
Tell Andrew & Agnes I said Hi!! shaggy

Kristi & Kelli have been best friends for over 20 yrs. She was always at my house when she was growing up and I treated her just like I treated Kelli, so she is like my other daughter. She married Donald and they have one child, Brittany. I can not really be grandma or nana, as we are not blood related, so I am nuu-nuu. Brittany will be as close to a grandchild that I will ever have.I gave them their honeymoon. (Fairfield, wmsburg) They will also be going with us to Pigeon Forge this fall. Isn't Brit Brit adorable? shaggy
