It's not going to happen unless I do it on my own which would be too dangerous and not much fun either.
When I see these pictures of homes and spacious lots around them with beautiful trees (Katmandu and RESORT2ME, for instance and some other email friends too), I realize that we do not have it all here in Southern CA, but we have the weather so I am not complaining.
This vast country is as varied as Europe is or maybe Australia and Africa too? It would be nice to see it all.

About 25 years ago I was lucky enough to take a cross country trip for 4 months in a converted van. That brought my total to 47 states. Then, luckily, my sister moved to Missouri so that made 48 states. Going to Hawaii this fall so only Alaska will be left. And I know I'll be getting there too!
When I lived in Maine a few years ago, I started a game by trying to see how many states' license plates I could find. I fspotted Hawaii and Alaska on the first day! The 49th state was Mississippi. The last state took over a year to find - it was Idaho. I finally spotted one a year and a half after I started my game. It was very early spring at a beach state park in Maine and there were 5 cars with Idaho plates. Obviously a group traveling together because there were probably no more than 25 cars in the lot. I guess when it rains, it pours.

Idaho! license plate digression
VERY funny about the license plate game.
I play it every time we start a big trip. Last time it was IDAHO also that hung us up, for over 2 yrs .
Driving through Burlington VT., actually on our way out of town, I told my DH that he had to circle back down the block we just passed as I saw a "strange" plate... and maybe it was Idaho. He humored me, and sure enough it was.
We go to Burlington every summer for a day when we are at Smugglers (a rain day) and always park in a garage off the main st. It never fails, we see the hardest to get plates - like Nebraska, Nevada, -- one afternoon we found 4 that we needed just going to a spot to park.
Best place to play the game to near completion was from NJ to Gatlinburg -- between the drive down and the parking lots at the visitors centers for Gt Smoky Mt NP, we got 46 of the 50 in a week.Comment

So far, we have vacationed in 13 states, and have just done overnights in another 3. We hope to visit several more in the next few years.

Wow...I have to get busy...I have visited 21 states and have another 29 to go! I am focusing on visiting every state in the US before I retire...that gives me another 15 years to do so.Comment

I have been to only 23 states - have not been to the southern states, New England, some of the heartland. Hope to see it all....
I have been to 20 countries; lived in 5 of them - Guinea, Canada, US, France, India.
I am permanently planted in the Northwest now.

While a cabinet minister, he was presenting a matter to the House of Commons, when a female Labour MP noticed he was slightly slurring his words and otherwise appeared to have had a bit much to drink, and exclaimed loudly, ''Mr. Churchill, you're drunk!''. Churchill responded ''Madame, you're ugly, but tomorrow, I'll be sober.''

OK anyone got a map handy I will need some time to count them all, I know I have been to most states on the eastern seaboard from Maine to Florida. In addition I have been to Texas, Illinois, Goergia, Mississippi, Tenn, Nevada, California, Hawaii and I'm not counting changing planes at an airport.
Wait how about states in Mexico to they count lets see Jalisco ( PV) Quintana Roo ( Cancun ) Nayarit ( NV) Baja ( Cabo not sure of the name of the state ) Guerrero (Acapulco).
The State of Israel ( I gotta count that one),
Canada has provences can I count those too. Ok I will Quebec ( Montreal), Ontario ( Toronto).
Did I see someone also list countries all I can say is I haven't been to enough , Just France, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Iceland (OK I know that was just a stopover but I was sure their a long time especially when the sun came up at around 2:00 AM and didn't go down till around 10:00PM ).
I probably forgot a few places and I got a lot more that I plan on visiting. Wait, hold on did someone say Carribbean all right now we're talking. Aruba, Jamaica,
PR ( OK that one may qualify one day as a state) St. Martin/St. Marteen ( hey do I get credit for two here like for the French and Dutch side) DR, and my next trip to the Cayman Islands in December.
