One of the nicest amenities of Villas de Santa Fe is their complementary shuttle. I used it to go to the plaza & was told to call when ready to come back. Walked around the plaza & looked at the vendors jewelry. Nice, but certainly not worth what they were asking. We ate at Tia Safia's for breakfast. 3 people recommended it . They are known for the breakfast burritos All it was was hasbrowns &sausage patties, or strips of bacon wrapped in a tortilla . I asked them to put the chillie on the side. I hated the chillie. It must be like here in the south we love grits or cole slaw on hotdogs, you have to acquire a taste for it. I don't want red , green, or xmas ever again.
Went shopping for the usual tourist stuff. I was in a shop when I spotted the "real" stuff. Gorgeous tourquoise. All of a sudden I heard a scream" OMG your bracelet is gorgeous" said this guy from across the room. He runs over, apologized for startling me, )said he saw me from across the room and proceeds to want to know what I am doing in this junk store. He told me I was too sophisticated for this junk and wants me to go upstairs and check out the clothes. Well first of all I haven't been "sophisticated" in nearly 40 yrs and I knew I couldn't afford anything upstairs so hightailed it out of there Sat at the plaza to people watch while Kelli shopped. A gentleman asked to join me , I kept reading and he left. There was a wonderful couple singing and playing and I enjoyed the music. All of a sudden he's back & wanted to join me again and asked if I enjoyed the Baaackkkk (Bach) Brother, it's been so long since I've been hit on I didn't realize what had happened until after he left. Something must be in the air in Santa Fe because within an hour I had been "accosted in a store & hit on in the plaza. Hmmmm, maybe I could get used to it.
A local suggested I take the city trolley tour. I discovered there were lots or arts & crafts along the route and saw lots of churches/museums/art/ I was a happy camper. We went by Canyon road and I loved all the sculptures and art galleries. After the tour I went to check out more arts & shops and the Church of the Laredo? )The one with the miraculous staircase. Very nice & I really liked the vibe of Santa Fe. I called the Villas & they picked me up at the Hotel Laredo. We went to a nice Italian restaurant/pizza place close to the resort and had pizza that was very, very good. The waiter was really nice as well as was everyone I met. I was ready to relax and enjoy my day in Santa Fe. Yes, I liked Santa Fe. Tomorrow: Taos
