Thanks for the tour of Disney.
I haven't been spending much time in Disney the past few years and am really missing my second home.
I've got a trip planned for October. Hopefully all my plans don't get shot down.
Haven't been having the best luck doing Disney trips lately.
I'm excited to see what they've done with Norway.

And I'll have to keep an eye out for the American Dream.
Usually I head straight for the Dole Whip. My all time favorite.

It really was! We generally have a good time on vacation, but there's a lot of some do this, some do that, people going to stuff they aren't crazy about because it's on the way to what they want, getting organized to go driving somewhere, then finding parking and stuff -- with Disney that was all minimized. Everyone got up at the same time and went to the same place. Youngest decided she wasn't into what was going on, and she could either go join someone else, or do something on her own. Plus there is such a variety of things to do; rides and shows and music and mini-museums and the card game and boat rides and the Perry Adventures... and of course there's the things you can pay extra for -- special tours (there's a train tour that tempts me at the MK, and I'll probably do the backstage at the Greenhouse tour next time), and all kinds of water craft, golf, balloon rides, and on and on.

Even without doing the Disney parks, central Florida has a lot going on. Although having visited the area before WDW opened, I suspect the Disney parks drive the whole thing.

We're going in November. I'm hoping all my kids will make it. My sister's supposed to join us, although she hasn't made a reservation yet (we've got a 3 BR so could technically put her up if it comes to that). Can't get my parents on board again. Last time it was, "I'll go if he does." "I'll go if she does." "He said he would if I would? Well, I'll have to think about it...." And eventually, "I just don't think I'm in good enough shape for that." Admittedly, my mom was in pretty poor condition for a while there. But now she's in better shape than I am, and she's still stalling.

Then we'll go again spring 2017, for our 30th anniversary. After that we'll probably go back to my original plan of every other year. *knock wood*

The first time I had Dole Whip, the first bite my brain was all, "What is this chemically-plasticy tasting thing?" But it was hot and I was thirsty, so I took another, and my brain is all, "Oh! I get it! It's supposed to taste like pineapple!" And then it suddenly tasted great. Once my brain figured out what signals it was supposed to send, tasted right from the first bite the next time, and now it's a big fave. Enough that I tracked down a copy-cat recipe (which uses crushed pineapple and whipping cream), which is also pretty good.

But the American Dream was good from the first bite (probably because my brain already knows what the various components are "supposed" to taste like ). Wasn't sure how the texture of the icy slush would blend with the ice cream, since I really hate icy ice cream, but it all works out fine.

Thanks for posting. I really enjoy your trip reports! We were going to Disney World every year but it has been a year and a half now and I feel deprived, even though we did go to Disneyland 3 times last year.

I do too, and I'm very grateful that you're more reliable about that than I am!

Only been to Disneyland once but I have to agree -- just not the same. I told middle daughter that once she graduates from ballet school and high school this year, I'm not going to worry about her schedule anymore, which hopefully means that hubby and I, at least, will be able to get out to WDW more regularly. *knock wood*
