My Nola Trip!! March 29th thru April 8th 2014!!

Finally arrived in Nola after a 3 hr delay in Atlanta due to thunderstorms in Florida so everything was on hold. I watched as one couple broke down in tears as they were trying to get to their cruise and the ship was going to leave without them. They would be flown into Jamaica 2 days later but the stress was more than could be handled. I would always recommend going one day early on a cruise.

Taxi was $33 fixed from airport to FQ & the quarter house. I was starving so threw the luggage in the ROOM (NOT ROAD) and headed out to Acme House or Felix but discovered my wheelchair had not been sent over. Luckily the bellman had access to one and we headed out. Line was so long at Acme that we chose Felix . Had the chargrilled oysters which were awesome!! Split the platter of fried shrimp, oysters, catfish with Kelli The shrimp & catfish were awesome, but the oysters were small and tough. Went to Harrah's to play blackjack and took me 2 hrs to lose my $40 playing bj so headed back to QH where my wonderful sleeping bed awaited me.

Next morning /Sunday woke up to a flooded bathroom. Oh joy, oh joy, more to come.

I am looking forward to further reports about your trip, but I just have to say--just ONCE it would be nice to see you have an event-free trip. Just once.

Yay for the bellman! Glad you didn't let the delay slow you down and went out anyhow.

Flooded bathroom? On a Sunday, no less.

You were out for a good while, at least; hope things got better and then stayed fun!

You're kidding right??? lol Oh yeah, wait until I tell you I fell in the lobby getting out of the wheelchair & then about half hour later I fell in the bushes!! lol I didn't get hurt tho.

Always love to hear your adventures Shaggy ~ forget the book ~ the movie would be hilarious ~ no one would believe these things really happen!! Only you Shaggy!! I hope the trip just got better & better! I too would love to hear about your nice relaxing stress free vacation...............it's gotta be out there...........waiting for ya! Guess you'll just have to keep vacationing and find it!!

Maybe you need to take a cane or a walker with you too.

You make me laugh Chris. Ok, here it goes : I had just returned to the Ave Plaza after a long day of wrestling and we were hungry. I deceided I'd try to make it to the Trolley Stop Restaurant. It didn't look far. (sort of like Vegas, nothing looks far lol) So got up to get out of chair and I tripped over the foot thingy and hit the floor. Man that got everybody moving, they were still talking about it the next morning. lol. So off we go and I decide it's a little too far so sent Kelli to get the chair. I figured I'd sit down and wait. There was a brick wall around a tree so thought I'd sit there. Because of my back & leg are messed up I don't always have good control of my body doing squats so I lost my balance and ended up in the bushes. A young couple were sitting near by and ran over to check on me and pull me out of the bushes. Yay!! Told Kelli what happened and she posted it on Facebook. Geez.

When I was leaving to go out one of the desk girls asked me my name and wanted to know if I was ok. Sure, but you missed me falling in the bushes!! She looked at me like I had lost my mind!! lol Enuff for now!!

I saw your daughters post on Facebook. Figured it was her since she was talking about you.
Honestly I think I'd be falling too if I attempted all the stuff you are doing.
I give you credit for trying in a wheelchair and all.
You guys did alot judging by the facebook pics.
Seems like there was never a dull moment and then of course you had to add in those Shaggy tale moments.

I always enjoy reading your travel tales, Shaggy. Now I have to go over to FB and see your pictures too. NOLA sounds so nice to visit one day. It is still on my bucket wish to do, I hope.
