Love it, no clue why we do not go more!
    Pacifica Resorts May 13-27, 2017
    Ixtapa Mx

We arrived to our 2 weeks of vacation in our lovely Penthouse unit. We had a different unit this visit but it was just as lovely. A few changes were glass doors to the outdoor rainfall shower, which made the bathroom so much more comfortable for getting ready.
The bed had drapery like a canopy so was pretty romantic.
This was a long overdue return to Ixtapa and Pacifica and meant to be just a relaxing almost do nothing vacation. We chose to partake of the All inclusive top tire 7 day package and it was well worth it. Our choices to dine were plenty like the buffet at Tulipanes, 2 Restaurants at Pacifica Grand. La Vista and El Suspiro both with great food, service, drinks and views, Moon Bar which is on beach and Asian inspired, El Faro with incredible service, food, drinks and view. We celebrated our friends anniversary there. Cieba which is an Italian buffet around a pool area. La Pampa a sports bar , good ribs and wings, great fun. Bouganvillas, again an Italian by Bouganvillas pool. We had so many choices and did not have to even dine for dinner at Tulipanes at all. Breakfast and lunch were great there though, with lots of variety. 3 meals a day, plus snacks and service by beach or pool and drinks were included, a great deal for sure. They also have room service for an extra charge.

We loved our unit, the view and the improved service by golf carts up to road or gondola or a shuttle. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. The gondola is fun to travel down to beach and take in the view. The A/C vans about the property are readily available with no more than a few minute wait at any time.

You have your own reserved palapa or covered area at the beach along with wait service and of course the use of so many pools throughout the property. The ocean is a stunning turqoise color. Quite relaxing. A few days a yacht was settled there adding to the view.

The resort provides plenty of activities for kids and adults including watching the feeding of the crocodiles, a turtle reserve, parrots, water aerobics, beach volleyball and nightly shows in their theater. I myself liked when they did the shows in front of Tulipanes so you could watch while dining but they have the new theater now.

We spent most of our time just hanging out by beach or pools, relaxing and as stated just a chill vacation. Our first weekend was the Triathalon, a yearly event and we did get to see some of that take place. We shopped a bit at Ixtapa Plaza and of course I got current on my Tattoos from my favorite tattoo artist and friend Pellon!!!
The boutique store onsight moved and has a whole new look and atmosphere. Just lovely. What an improvement.

I enjoyed a massage at the spa and my friend and I also did the Thallasus water/spa treatment and it was just amazing. I really enjoyed it.

We wondered why we do not go more often while we were there as it really is a lovely area and the resort and our units are spectacular. It is a sprawling resort, many units set into a mountain. Transport throughout resort is provided.

We had a lovely time and look forward to going back. In remembering back a few employees really deserve special applause such as our private concierge Napolean. He was so efficient, was constantly on the go and very kind. Antonio our waiter on the beach was great and days he was not there, were not the same. He is the best beach waiter there.
Eriberto the waiter by the Bouganvillas pool really went out of his way to make your time spent in that area great. Thinking ahead of your needs and so forth. Great service. Finally Luis the waiter at El Faro was professional and on top of things in a top notch restaurant.

I am already missing it and thinking of when I can get back.. It is a great resort with many food and styles of units to stay in.. check it out.

I stayed there once 20 years ago and it was great.

I’d love to go back. I’m happy to hear it’s still awesome.

Alaska has non stops out of LAX so I better start planning!

Yes we love it there , we had not gone for 3 years. They are always doing Maint. and so it stays good. We of course are in top units Aqua Penthouse they are called, but have stayed in other units. The AI package is really cheap for members..

Thanks for posting your trip. I would like to head farther south to this area. PV is about as far south as we go. I do have a ts in Zihuatanejo but have not really thought of going to it.

I go to PV a lot. I love it there. I have to say though the water in Ixatapa/Zihuatenejo is prettier. The weather in the winter is hotter as is more south.
I do enjoy the parts more south..and they are less developed than PV which is truly booming with development.
What timeshare do you own in Zihuatenejo? Maybe I know it.
Give it a try, change is nice.

Its the Worldmark. The largest room is a 1 bedroom penthouse for 20,000 points is one reason I haven't really considered this resort. It does have a kitchen. There is also a one bedroom penthouse with no kitchen for 14,000 points and a studio with kitchen for 10,000 points. It looks kind of smaller than what we are used to.
