  • Back from Alaska!! Day 1/Seattle

With much encouragement from the nurses and mom's Dr I took off for my long awaited trip to Alaska. Most of you know my mom is 95 and not doing well so I had some really mixed feelings about going. Am glad I did!! I had a wonderful time and had some great adventures.

Sat: got up at o dark thirty to go to the airport as my flight left at 6:00 am. Kelli left an hour later to go to ORlando to visit her Dad and her Grandma. This was to be an "adult" vacation First in years!!!

I arrived in Seattle at 10:30 their time, 1"30 our time and I was starving. Once I made it to the Best Western Executive Center I discovered I was only 2 blocks away from a Bite of Seattle (at the Seattle Center) I headed on over where I proceeded to eat my way around the grounds. I had a Gyro, a roasted ear of corn on the cob, freshly made lemonade and strawberry shortcake. I waddled on back to the room to wait for Karen. Wouldn't you know, Seattle broke a record for the hottest day . I thought I would die as I had no really lightweight summer clothes. I was wearing the coolest thing I had , a tourquoise (sp) terry cloth outfit. Karen finally showed up and we took a quick nap before going to the Cheesecake Factory to meet all our friends. She wouldn't let me wear my blue outfit, she said it looked like I was wearing pj's!!

At the Cheesecake factory I had an Indian type fry bread concoction with fresh asparagus, Karen had fried macaroni & cheese balls. Both were out of this world. Jean & Phillip (Jaybee) and Walter & Kathy Addie were at our table. Lucky for us JB had a coupon for 4 pieces of cheesecake which we all shared. We had starwberry , godiva chocolate, apple crunch cheesecake and some lemony concotion. I'm about ready to explode at this point. It was so great to see so many returning tuggers and meet so many new ones.

Afterwards, Walter, Kathy & I headed over to the space needle with the intentions of taking pics but it was getting too dark so forgo that as we were also getting concerned about crowd control. Everywhere you looked there were gangs of teenagers and police everywhere so we deceided to high tale it out of there.

I have also developed a horrible cough from being under the ac but don't feel bad. Off to bed, end of a happy day 1. shaggy

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.
