      Some new bennies for 1K:

      No 25USD fee for same day confirmed standby
      No Australian ETA fee

      Another existing benefit is substantially reduced RCC dues and it's only 50 bucks to add a spouse/domestic partner so they can use the club solo.

        Pat, I'm not sure what this means. I've done standbys before, to change flights - but they were free. This may not have been on United, though. My mind is going with old age.

          Standby is still free but you might not get on the plane. Confirming a same-day seat costs 25 bucks when seats are available but is free (now) for 1K/UGS.

          It's technically known as same day travel change and applies to flights within 4 hours (before or after) of your original flight....
