Finally, the time has arrived. I had some trepidetion going with my next door neighbors knowing that we'd come back still best friends or worst enemies. His little Ford Escort didn't hold all the luggage so we were crammed in like sardines holding all the excess. Who cares? Just get us there. Left Greensboro on time thru Chicago on to Vegas. Boy, were we lucky, we were one of the last planes to leave Chicago, the winter snow storm in Chicago closed it down . When we picked up the car at Enterprise, I remarked how we didn't have to stand in a line and that's when they told us about the weather in Chicago. We were upgraded to a big car and at first we thought it was cool as we got this silver weird looking station wagon type car which we quickly named the F N (effen) car. Bill really hated it as it was so much bigger than he was used to and had some bad blind spots. I suggested we switch it out but he said he'd deal with the f n car

Short drive to the FF Grand where we were given a 11th story room in the 3rd tower overlooking the strip!! This was in honor of my bd and it was really nice layout and a great location. Bill & Betty were properly impressed but my first words were Yuk, is it ever brown!!! The furniture was very heavy and very masculine, not my cup of tea. Brown or black w brown carpeting. I still don't understand why a high end ts has such cheap appliances. The br's were on opposite ends with kitchen/ living room in the middle. 3 tv's but seemed small compared to the size of the room. I took the main br which had a huge black king sized bed w shower & jacuzzi tub which I liked. Betty & Bill , from now on known as B&B got the 2nd one with 2 reg beds and kelli slept on the couch.
We were tired & hungry so went to Ellis Island where we had delicious prime rib for $7.99 Kelli had fish & chips. Lost a little in the casino and went home to crash. Altho it was 11 Vegas time it was 2AM our time and it had been a long day. I felt like an old fogey but knew we had to get up early to start our adventure.

I 'm supposed to win on my BD but it wasn't in the cards. B&B took me to the House of Blues for the Gospel Brunch and it was one of the highlights of the trip. For a buffett the food was delicious and the music afterwards was awesome. We spent about 3 hrs in MB taking pics and looking around. Betty is into fabrics and lighting so I have lots of pics of rugs and chandeliers. Next stop was Luxor and then on to Excalibur. I was a little tired by then so took the elevator while they walked the steps. The door opened and looked just like where I started and someoe else got in. Hmmm. It stopped and Iheard gales of laughter coming from the back. The door opened from the back and I was in the front really close to the door> From then on Kelli would get real close to the door and say "which way do I go? which way do I go? You had to be there to see it. This went on for days!!
It's been so long since I started this I'm getting cornfused. shaggy
