  • Your advice on posting Trip West...

I want members to read TRAVEL TALES and look at photos, anything I can do to help people understand what is out there, that is my goal.

I don't wish to be boring by such lengthy detail. Would you please share with me your opinions, from having read Chapter One, what I could have left out.

Did you find the Picasa photos without difficulty?
I find that if I click on SLIDESHOW and then maximize the page, the photos come big. You have to wait for the whole thing to download... that's a few minutes for me. Might as well go make coffee or take a shower.
I'll find out shortly whether High Speed Internet helps with that.

btw, how many of you can NOT view all the Picasa photos because of there being 26 or 40? I'd like to really know cause I can break them down further to accommodate. It would be a shame for you to not see them because I made the folders too large.

I'm trying to limit it to 40 photos. Many hit the editing room floor. Yellowstone in particular as I have too many shots, especially of Mammoth.

    Robert,
Your chapter one writings were excellent. Keep up with the detail, you have a good writing style. I also liked you photos very much especially the ones from the Tetons and from the river, some were almost like paintings, that's really beautiful country.
    Keep up the good work.

      Downloads too lengthy????

      Thanks Ken.

I'm really concerned about some member's PCs not allowing downloads of large files.

I just timed downloading of the slideshow for "Floating the Snake" ... 13 minutes on my PC.

I'm trying to limit each folder to 40 photos, but even then they may be too much for some PCs to handle.

I need to hear from anyone having difficulty.

Please go to Picasa Web Albums - ROBERT and click on a folder, then click on Slideshow and let it download. Give feedback of whether you were successful and roughly how long it takes.

That's nice to know. Thanks alot.

Another question... for those of you who have looked at the Trip West photos, have you done the slideshow at Full Page size? Did the Slideshow come up sluggishly? Are many of the pictures were real pixelated, or were they clear? (I expect scanned post cards to have background lines.)

I'm learning Picasa useage as I go along. It's getting faster on my end. I just don't know the outcome for others.

Everytime I go online to Picasa, Picasa recognizes me as the RESORT2ME member. I can't view my photos as one looking in from outside.

May I please hear from some of you who have dial-up, like me? Do you have trouble downloading 36 photos?

              Ken,

              Thanks for the comments.

The photos, after Cody, are for Chapter two which hasn't been completed.

Picasa Web Albums - ROBERT now includes albums from Cody through Glacier National Park. I thought I'd make them Public as I make the albums.

Idaho state pictures are in the works, as we headed from Glacier to Spokane.

Robert, I just looked at your Tetons pictures. When I clicked on the slide show, it took a while for each picture to load. We have a cable connection and, usually with slide shows I am able to see one picture right after another without having to wait for each picture to load separately. Not sure if others encountered this when viewing your pictures.

By the way, I really enjoyed them - great photography.

I have dial-up & your pictures load quickly for me. My old PC is usually pretty slow with images so I have learned to be patient. Your albums on Picassa were fast & clear. The slide show works great. I love reading your trip report especially the details. It's like I'm traveling along with you. Thanks for taking us along! Keep it up.

                      Thanks for some input.

btw, By the time Chapter Two (Trip West) is posted, I hope to have more photos added.

Gerald and his new lady visited this week. He had pictures that I didn't have.
