  • Last Thoughts & the TS Tour

How did I forget to tell you about the dreaded TS tour ? Shaggy was ready & contrare to everything I'd heard it was one of the easiest tour I've been on.I greeted him with a warm smile and said I'm the nicest customer you've ever had that is going to say no!! Huh? He asked me what that meant and simply told him I didn't need any more weeks and I've been ts'ing over 20 yrs with my small cheap weeks and have been quite happy with the trades. He asked me how much I had paid for them ($250 & $500) He thanked me for being honest and asked me if I would mind a different salesman as he was on commission and knew he was not going anywhere with me. Next thing I knew I had a sweet young thing that had been there 2 days and took me to breakfast and said enjoy!! you can say no to me, I'm not on commission. So we had a thoroughly enjoyable breakfast , talked about travels and how he ended up here. He was quite a gentleman and paid the tip (unlike Club Regina) Said afterall I get to eat free. The closer gave a half hearted stab and wished me luck and happy travels. No ulcers, no pressure, no fights, no lies. Kay D said hers was very high pressure, glad mine wasn't.

Impressions: Loved the grounds, surounded by beauty everywhere, pool was fantastic, esp loved the chairs I could lay on in the water. I had a horrible view but I enjoyed being close to the shuttle. Main difference between Grand Mayan & reg Mayan is that the Grand has a little higher grade of furniture and a bigger balcony with a small pool. They also have jacuzzi tubs which we didn't. I found the food good but expensive. The service was great and everyone tried to make sure you had a great experience. The maid service was the best I've ever seen. The omelets on the breakfast buffett were incredible.

Snorkeling tours were great. My very fav was Puerta Morelas. Save your strength for the 2nd part. Tours: Chicken Pizza , Good, but too darn hot!!
Xel-Ha Good snorkeling, Kelli enjoyed jumping off the Cliff of Courage, food there was very good. Both of these I would say Been there, done that. My fav and most everyone's Xcaret great, extra snorkeling (fee) also good. The night show was definitly worth the price of admission.

Food: Not a bad meal. Best food: Las Mananitas which was downtown Playa del Carmen.( I found the card)

Best memories: Renewing my friendship with Kay D and meeting her friend Kathy. She is a great gal (both are) hope to see them both again in OCt.

Regrets: None. Would I come back again? Maybe, I like the hustle & bustle of Cancun better but this is so much more laid back and beautiful landscaping.

Hope you enjoyed my trip down memory lane. Shaggy
