  • United EQM question

    I've been Premier Exec on United for a few months. I just took a trip on Monday and I checked my account to confirm that the miles have been credited. I have been receiving my actual miles plus the bonus miles accumulating as EQM. However today I've noticed that the bonus miles were not included as EQM, but I did get them credited as redeemable miles. Has Mileage Plus changed their policy - or was I getting miles credited that I shouldn't have been?

    The double bonus miles you get for being 1P are RDM's not EQM's. You shouldn't be getting these credited as EQM's. Class of Service bonus miles for flying paid business or first count as EQM's.

      The only time I get more than BIS (with the 500 mile minimum on short legs) as EQM's is from UA.com ticket purchases with UA's Platinum ViSA, COS bonuses (rare) and the 2XEQM promo (fee)

      The 1P "bonus" is RDM's. You also get E-500's (4 per 10K BIS on UA/UX/TED metal).

      Term's
      BIS=butt in seat
      EQM= elite qualifying mile
      RDM= redeemable mile
      E-500= upgrade instrument
      COS= class of service, like business or first or full fare economy
