  • Day 7/Fri/ AK/& I earn my Tinkerbell pin

This was the day I had been waiting for. Kelli had never been to AK and I had only been once when it was brand new. We couldn't lolly gag as we had to be back at 5PM to meet Kelli's dad. They were going to FYE in Orlando to try to get tix to Wrestlemania. They didn't go on sale until Sat but they had a 2 hr pre sale.

Entered AK and headed straight over to Expedition Everest ( the huge new roller coaster) Grabbed a fast pass and went to see Nemo (the musical) It was excellent. Do I need say we had our pics made with more characters. We rode the Kallaleia (sp) River Rapids and Kelli didn't think she got wet enough so she rode it again. She was in the right place at the wrong time and came off drenching wet!!. Walked thru an animal habitat and headed back to EE . She told me I didn't have to ride it since I got sick on Rockin Roller Coaster but I told her yes I did. They let me ride my scooter all the way to the top where we were seated in the last car. WHAT A RIDE!! OMG!! You go up and down and go to a high spot where a monster comes out and then you go backwards (in the dark!!)I was laughing so hard (that's what I do instead of screaming) Whew. I didn't get sick and I'd do it again!! When I got off all I had to do was walk a short way and my scooter was waiting on me. Ate a awful lunch at a BBQ place because Kelli refused to eat at McDonalds. Afterwards we scooted off to Lion King the show. It was excellent. I didn't have time to do the safari as we wanted to see the parade. Got an excellent place near the tree of life and started talking to the photographer. Turns out she was from the mtns of NC and she was coming to Winston Salem to put her mom into an alzheimers unit. I told her she could stop by Sears and we could go to lunch or if she just needed someone to talk to. I gave her some insight to assisted living and gave her my home # & my cell phone #. We just hit it off like we had been old friends and I gave her a hug as we left. All of a sudden she hugged me again and put something into my hand. When I looked down I had the Tinkerbell Pins. One to keep and one to give to someone else whom you see doing a good deed. What a way to end the trip. It was the last thing I expected.

We made it home at 5pm on the nose and he was already there waiting on us. Larry & I felt certain about getting tix for wrestlemania but Kelli was not so sure. When the phone rang it was Kelli screaming that they had gotten the tix . We bought the $95 tix and we got lower level . Ringside was $700. Have you lost your mind? Hey, but at least you get to keep your chair Larry's brother met them there and they went out to dinner.

Chris (my friend for over 25 yrs) came up to see me. She thought the place was beautiful and was looking forward to catching up on old times. We went out to dinner where I finally got my rare prime rib and she had baked salmon. It was delicious. (Forgot the name) Went back to the abode and all of a sudden she had trouble breathing. She has severe allergies and she said she smelled mold & mildew. She even wore a surgical mask. I couldn't smell anything , the place was spotless. It would go away when we were by the pool or outside. Unfortunatly she had to go back home. She told me she smells things nobody else does. Zowie, she better not come to see me , I have pets!! I was very disappointed so I just went and packed up to go home.

    Shaggy,
    I'm enjoying your posts !
I, too, got two of those Tinkerbell pins for doing a good deed (which I thought was minor). I don't wear or trade pins. The cast member said that they were rare and hard to get as they only come from cast members. Not sure what to do with mine.

Well Shaggy it sounds like a heck of a week and I'm sure you needed a vacation from the vacation but that is often the way with Disney.
I hope the cast member you befriended gets in touch. Sometimes you can make quite a good friend through a chance encounter, and that is nice.

I didn't think I was doing anything special. I was just being myself. It is funny how things happen and what we think is nothing it touches someone. It's easier to be nice than an old grouch. Maybe you all didn't think you were doing anything either when I first found out Mom needed hospice but you guys don't know how much your kindness meant to me.

I really think this is a caring group. Some of you have gone above & beyond to help Emmy & Peter. All I can give is my support, I have no weeks.
